Linda's Poem

This is a poem that was written for my friend Linda who is battling stage IV breast cancer, written by a friend of hers, April.  I think it's perfect and wanted to share with my "sisters"! 

The big C I heard someone call it
Another just whispered the word
That we don't even say "CANCER" out loud
Gives it power it does not deserve.

So give that letter new meaning.
And refuse to give into fear.
By reclaiming the power for you and me.
And saying these words loud and clear.

Let the "C" be for "CURE" and "COMPASSION"
Let it stand for 'CANDLES" you light.
And a "CHORUS" of voices shouting you Can !!!!
For you who take up this fight.

Let it stand for"CASH CONTRIBUTIONS"
("CREDIT or CHECKS will do too !!!!!)
Let it stand for "COMMITMENT" and"CHECKUPS"
And "CHEER" and the two "CHILDREN" who are counting on you.

Let it mean you know our "CREATOR"
Is beside you each step of the way.
And remind you to "CALL" on his strength and his love.
And to "CELEBRATE " every new day

To you who is facing this "CHALLENGE"
I say it's a fight "WE" will win.
Tell all who will listen,that starting today,
The "C" is for "COURAGE" and for you, Linda,our friend
