Disposable gloves for garlic.
i really enjoyed the last 2 hours of my day.
Hi Everyone.
I burned the soup because the timer wasn't on and I was too involved with my show.
My father is a mess. Memory is practically gone and he wants me to stay there from morning to night. I told him i will come tomorrow but I also have things to do in my house.
I had a half roasted chicken and Baked Potato.
lalalalalalalalalalalalalalala
I'm totally lost and hyper after talking to so many people and filling paper work for my father.
-
Blondie - thanks for asking - I went for acupuncture yesterday and will go again tomorrow - I have been a believer in that for a while and I do think it helped already. I love planning parties but don't know what your DIL is interested in.
Sheila - sorry about your dad, he seems to be declining fast and I know that is so hard to watch - I remember with my dad how it was. I guess I won't call to talk about AI tonight
Meece - so glad your B9 will be coming soon.
Chris - yay yay yay for B9!
Deb - how is your dad doing?
I met a girlfriend for happy hour, also known as self-medicattion tonight. The place she picked is all about bacon. I had candied bacon, candied smoked bacon, and candied apple bacon. YUM! Linda, does that make you want to eat meat just a little?
-
((((((((((Sheila)))))))))))
Diane - Hope the acupuncture heals your pinched nerve so you feel better soon!

TO ALL
-
Chris, you can wet your hands and rub them on your faucet. I have one of those stainless bars, and it works well.
-
I must have really absorbant skin. I do feel as though they smell worse after I try rubbing them on the sink or faucet, so maybe the stainless is drawing out the odor. Oh well - it will go away eventually.
Funny thing though - last time, the next morning, I realized my hair smelled like garlic. I assumed it was from when I was standing over it when it was on the stove. Now, I realize it is because I sleep with my arm up above my head with my hand under my head and my hair picked up the garlic smell from my hand. Why is it that I seem to be the only one who has all these stupid problems? The whole world cooks with garlic - does everyone walk around smelling like garlic? It's actually embarrassing that I haven't been cooking with garlic all these years. You all must feel bad for my family having to eat my boring cooking - lol.
-
Some people will exude garlic odor from their pores when they eat a lot of it. We have a garlic processing plant about 8 miles away. We can always ell when it is a prcsessing day when we drive by. So smelly, but soooo good!
-
Nice to see you back with us Diane. Self medication hour....I'm going to use that one! Yes, when my kids cook bacon I need to leave the kitchen. It smells so good. Hope the acupuncture is working!
Good Morning everyone!
Meece, there is a garlic plant on my way to Cape Cod. Every time I drive by it, which it can't even be seen by the highway, you can smell the garlic. I love the smell!
What about washing your hands with lemon juice to neutralize the odor?
-
Yeah- breathing garlic after you eat it is part of why I haven't been cooking with it all this time - don't want to stink of garlic afterward - sad, huh? Cooking smells always smell so good while you're cooking, but the lingering smell afterward gets to be too much. Like when I make a roast, I put onion on it. The house smells so strongly of onion. It smells good at first, but then later, it stinks.
My BIL makes garlic potatoes at Thanksgiving and my daughter said she liked it. That's what prompted me to try to make it - to try to get her to eat potatoes willingly. And my son too - he's not a fan of potatoes. And they don't like rice. But you can't eat pasta for every meal. My kids don't even like french fries that much. See what I have to deal with? My kids don't even like kid food! And I have a touchy digestive system and my husband's gut is big enough as it is, so I don't need to be making the food better so he wants to eat even more! So I haven't experimented much with cooking. So now I get to feel stupid asking questions about things I should know about. But luckily, I have you ladies to tell me what I need to know!
-
I was so lucky to have only one of three children who was picky. The other two will try just about anything. The one who is picky, is the one who needs to watch his weight. The other two are pretty darn slim.
-
Still catching up on the laundry and ironing - well I would be if I'd stop posting -lol. Then appt with BS. Not looking forward to the clinical exam he might give me on my sore boob. Ouch. The steri-strip came off in the shower the next day - was supposed to stay on for 3 days. Oops. I tried to be careful. I hope he's not going to tell me he wants to go back in to take out any calcifications that might still be in there.
-
Interesting that the picky eater is the one with the weight issue. Makes up for it with junk food? That's like me - 28 sweet teeth are my downfall.
-
Yes, he likes his Taco Bell.
-
Last time they sent me home with extra steri strips just in case the original came off.
-
Good morning.
Chris when steri strips fall out by itself its okay. Did you pull it?
I guess so far we are lucky no snow or rain just a gray day with no VD (Vitamin D)
-
No, I didn't pull it. First, I noticed it wasn't attached in the middle when I bent over and it bulged out, unattached in the middle and only attached on the ends. Then by the time I was done in the shower, the top of it had come unattached. Then I just took it off at that point since it was just hanging there. I guess just getting it wet was enough to make it come off. I didn't scrub it or anything. I could have used another steri-strip - it oozed at some point and I got some bloody ooze on my bra. Cheap, old bra, so no big deal.
After this wet snow mess we're supposed to get tonight and tomorrow, it looks like we're supposed to get rain next week. We'll have to keep in mind April showers bring May flowers while we wait impatiently for the nice weather to arrive. It's been a loooong winter. As I get older, the winters seem to get longer.
-
So you guys are getting more snow, OMG, take pix and hopefully it will melt and dolphins is all she likes....
Have a meeting for Michael at school, he is here yet again yesterday and today, think he only went 2 days this week so he will be cyberschooled, don't know if it will work, but he is really depressed and is sleeping alot and can't get up in the morning, called psychiatrist and all the people he has, goes to bed at 9 pm and sleeps until 9 or 10 then next day, worried about him, he already failed a subject the first marking period....he is in honors and has been on the honor roll until this year, that is what cancer has done to my family, taken my child from the honors program to not going to school cause he thinks he will come home and find me dead on the floor.......cancer sucks.....have a good day!!
-
F-ing cancer. So so sorry, Sandy.
((((((((Sandy))))))))) (((((((((Michael)))))))))
-
So sorry Sandy. I hope he does well with the Cyberschool. Yes, Cancer sucks!
-
Ditto, it sure does suck.
I was so busy yesterday I didn't come to visit. My Dad needed some things so I had to pick them up and drop them off, then my DD boyfriend wanted to take us out to eat before they left so we all went to Gibbet Hill Grill in Groton. That was very nice. She drove the U'Haul to NJ and tomorrow will drop off all her belongings that are in the truck to a port near there and it will be loaded into a container to be put on a boat to sail to Bermuda. Meanwhile she is staying in NJ in a hotel. Tomorrow after they drop off her stuff she will drive the U'haul into NYC to drop that off at a U'haul place. Then she will spend a few days in Manhattan with Nick. Sunday they fly to Bermuda, get home around 8 PM, Monday will be her first day at work. PHEW! I can't imagine drive a U'haul in the city, I hate traffic.
-
Me too! But she must be so excited about going to Bermuda.
-
Hot day today, 84! I can't imagine what you arfe dealing with back East. Yesterday it was in the low 70s.
-
Shudda upppppp!!!! It's snowing now!
-

-

Always remember she is 2 hours away. I feel your emotions♥
And I enjoyed my show tonight more than any other night.
Chris..Did you take care of the steri strips?
-
Diane...i forgot to say i hope you are feeling better than yesterday.
(((HUGS)))
-
DD is going to spend the weekend in Manhattan with Nick before they fly out to Bermuda.
-
