My young second grade teacher who was beautiful, wore red high-heels and taught with passion about the planets and stars. Also my college advisor, a tremendous mentor.
My worst teacher.....

Mrs. Ryan, my 5th grade teacher. She was so kind in a school full of crabby teachers. She challenged us and encouraged us and you felt as though she loved you. She told us we could be anything we wanted to be....my 8th grade teacher one day went around the room asking each of us what we wanted to be.....when a girl said something other than teacher or nurse, she said "either pick teacher or nurse or better yet just say housewife because that's probably the best you'll do" I can still remember 50 years later how deflated I felt that day. What a witch.

My worst teacher was a college professor who spent our entire class period talking about "Moonlighting" (an old TV series with Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd) instead of the subject I was paying good money to be taught.

I like to watch....

clouds. Yesterday I took a walk when I got home from work and had to remind myself to watch the sidewalk. There were three layers of clouds against a gorgeous blue sky. The top layer was bright white, then a medium-toned middle layer, then a fast-moving dark bottom layer that was a storm blowing through. SO COOL to watch the layers of white, gray and black moving against the blue. And the sunset - fantastic!

My best home remedy for a cold is.....

Drink plenty of water (lots and lots), chicken soup and Vicks Vapo Rub. I always slather it on my chest and wrap a towel around it. I have no idea if it works but it always makes me feel better.
