sending windlass a {{hug}} right now!
Some people's children ...
-
make for amusing conversation!
(((Windlass)))
This weekend I am........
-
finally carving my Halloween pumpkin.
I have always wondered if ...
-
there is life on other galaxies.
Windlass, she is so upset because, in her heart, she knows she is doing wrong, she is lashing out because of guilt, and by saying mean, hurtful things is distracting her (and your thoughts) about what she is doing......it doesn't have anything to do with you, and everything to do with her....she probably doesn't need prayers as much as she needs a good, swift kick!!!!
An important lesson I learned from my parents was.....
-
to be generous. Thanks, Mom!! (And she got it from my Grandpa - so thanks to him, too!!)
Thanks for the support about my friend. I am going to pray for her anyway - and especially for her kids and husband. I am glad I have BCO as a place where I can come and spill my guts and get some hugs. I needed them, and I am grateful you were here and willing to give them.
A Fall-themed arts and crafts project I did as a kid was...
-
at school we tied long strings on the dried leaves and in the morning when we came to school they had hung them all from the ceiling so it looked like leaves were falling in our classroom. It was cool!
I am sorry Windlass...yes, pray for her, so that you can keep your heart open and heal. I am sorry for your pain {{{hugs}}}
One quote that helps me to keep things in perspective when I am down is.....
-
I have tons, here's one:
"Ring the bells that still can ring.
Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack in everything.
That's how the light gets in. "
Leonard Cohen
Another quote I love is......
-
wow....Good one, Ruth! That man's lyrics are astonishing!
Some of you say "Joy is greater than sorrow"
And others say "Nay, sorrow is the greater"
But I say unto you they are inseparable
Together they come
And when one sits, alone with you at your board
Remember that the other is asleep upon your bed
From Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet
Another quote that I find to be so powerful is.....
-
"Lean on the future. There
if anywhere
you walk upon the water,
All that was true at first
is true at last
but there is no way back
into the past.
But through the future. There
if anywhere
the miracle must happen."
Sydney Carter
Another quote that speaks to me is.....
-

public speaking

The best thing I did this weekend was........

-
get together with friends.

-
Wicked.

-
Cats
I love the scent of.......
-
freshly ground coffee.
What I wish I'd known 20 years ago was....
-
don't take birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy!!!!!!
This Halloween I will......
-
feel sorry for the kids around here, because of all the snow on the ground and the fact that most of the town still has no electricity. Kind of puts a damper on trick-or-treating or parties.

-
Cuddle in my warm bed and watch a scary movie before Dancing With The Stars starts.

do more Christmas decorating. The last two years have been really depressing and I want to liven things up this year!
BlueCowgirl's question:
The craziest Halloween costume I ever wore was ...
-
I met DH when I was at a Halloween party dressed as an obnoxious tourist
If I were buying a new house, the most important feature it would have to have is.....
-
