Thanks Badger
I feel like it is easy for so many ladies on this board to.... live after BC. I mean, i was only stage 1 and now one year later, I thought it would be so easy for me. I keep up with appts, and really like my new body but I feel like crap! Honestly, I cannot do half of the things I used to do. WHY? menopause is the worse! My hot flashes are more like three minutes of literally sweating that happen in the day and evening! Doesn't help that I am "self cleaning" the oven for 4 hours in this hot day! Other people seem to be a lot stronger than me and frankly have more to cry about, as I am so impressed when I read that folks have dealt with chemo, rads, and stage 4!!! Sometimes for YEARS! GOSH I am inspired here, just sayin ...I tried to get through the day without pain meds and it was awful. I am trying to just use them to sleep. Pain is subjective and I have always been a strong person, but my back, neck, fingers...joints ect hurt! . A good friend of mine said recently "It only takes one cell" (she is a vet) and I know that radiology results come AFTER a person has symtoms....oh well sorry so negative. I am really trying to count my blessings and focus on building up my energy by coming here and posting exercise daily. Thanks for putting up with me.
(( I was told by a Rheumatoid Doc that I have FM ? Started Savella and it made the hot flashes worse! Effexor worked for a few months...uggghhh
Edit repeat....the sentence I feel it is easier for some to ......

windlass- one of the braver things I have ever done is to take care of my mother while she passed away at home. There were moments when I was a little freaked out, but SO very grateful that I never wavered. To watch someone die is....well it is something you never want to do but if you love that person more than life, you are grateful to do it. I never know how to describe it. But the last time on earth my mother spoke it was to me. She told me thank you, she was proud and she loved me. Hard, but I am lucky too.
I feel it is easier for some to turn the other cheek. Ihave a hard time with that and hold grudges.

hey MRDRN, we are all stronger than we give ourselves credit for. There are people who look up to you that way. You just don't see it in yourself, but it's there. Here's my theory: I live with BC not after it, but I live. Here and now. As far as I'm concerned, most of my symptoms - forgetfulness, aches & pains, hot flashes & chills - could be BC tx or impending geezerhood. Either way, I'm screwed! LOL! Might as well enjoy the ride.

Laurie, you are a good person and a wonderful daughter. Thank you for being unselfish, for feeling rewarded by it, and for passing those values to your own children.
My favorite evil thing to do is follow politics. It's like a train wreck - I just can't look away!

to really, really enjoy the little things....flowers, birds, clouds....stuff I more or less used to take for granted....now I really appreciate them!
edited to add that what also makes me feel better is to exercise and to also make plans for the future and keep busy in the present. Theodore Roosevelt (whose dad died when he was 19 and whose mom and first wife died on the same day when he was 26) once said that "Black care rarely sits behind a rider whose pace is fast enough."

was this past week. My three year old was sitting on my stomach while I lay on the couch and he kept blowing spit bubbles. I took his own hand and smacked the spit bubble to pop it. He thought it was great and started his belly laugh....we did that for a good twenty minutes, I was laughing so hard, his laugh was contagious I had tears rolling down my face.

When my whole family was here earlier this summer and we got the whole group involved in a Charade game. Everybody really got into it, and it was hysterical, we were all rolling on the floor. I don't think we've ever had so much fun all together.
Any more hysterical laughter out there?

Well, this one is pretty sick but I can't tell it without laughing really hard. It's a long story so I won't go into details. It happened during one of my neighborhood walks and includes a dead kitten and a mockingbird. The kitten was in the road - I stopped my walk and picked up the kitten to bring it back home for a proper burial - on my way home I was repeatedly attacked by a mockingbird - the only thing I had to defend myself was the kitten..........
Try to imagine watching a woman slinging this poor dead kitten around to defend herself from a bird attack! I must have looked half-mad!

I took out a three year lease and when I turned it in 3 years later I had two boys?! (found out I was pregnant with in the month of getting it.) We called it the clown car, waaaay to small for a family of 4, we literally barely fit in it. But it was the best car I ever owned. I am sure the SUV would be awesome too.
