There are many people I'd like to ask, "What were you thinking?" but this came to mind:
I'd solve a long-standing family mystery and ask my dad, while it was still fresh in his memory, where he hid a 100-dollar bill as emergency money for my mom, before he went out of town on a business trip. He came home and forgot where he hid it... thought he put in between the pages of a book... we had LOTS of books... they searched and searched but it never turned up.
