Annie
Thanks for posting so soon......Very thankful that your surgery is behind you and will be praying that the pathology report will be A-OK.....((((hugs)))) and a prayer for quick healing....and that will surely happen since they could do it as a lap.....
-
Yes, Annie, keep us posted about your path report. I hope you recuperate quickly! You're in my thoughts.
Janet

Yikes...I hope I am not consider a "lurker". Sounds scary. I've been a bit emotional and didn't think my sharing thoughts would help anybody. I like the post who told me her friend cried because she didn't know how big a piece of cake to cut!!! That made me chuckle. Just reading these thread and feeling all the comradery is comforting.
Hugs to all who are getting their exchanges this week.
-
I'm glad to hear "lurkers" are welcome. Even though I don't post often, often during my day, especially when I'm having a mini pity-party, I check in to see what has happened with everyone. It feels like a great big hug!
-
Notice: All lurkers and posters are WELCOME! And feel free to post even if you are having a down day. We are there for one another - good times and bad.
Cathee - I so hope that the feeling of dispair due to your medication is moving on for you. My friend truly had a hard time w/ the feelings, they ARE NOT in your mind. They are real! But the sweet, wonderful, optimistic you will prevail!
Val - We are there for pity parties as well. We all have them. The reason we are together really does SUCK, but so be it. We all care! That's what counts!
Sandy - I am going to add you to the list as well. We may as well post the fips along w/ the exchanges, right!?! It is all part of the final thing! Congratulations! You will be balanced again!
-
Annie.....so happy that you could do the lap......I was keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Got my extensions put in today.......nice to feel a bit of hair on my face........Here's a couple of pics.......
-
vinogal,
I leaked from my drain incision site for a bit. I used kotex lightdays thin panty liners stuck to my bra to control the drainage until it was gone.....Lord knows I had to use them up because I didn't need them for other girlie things...(had the hyst in Nov). They were really thin and I noticed my expander pain way more than the fact that I had a pantie liner in my bra...LOL.
Have fun in Vegas..I'm so insanely jealous....I love Vegas too...in short spurts!!!
Kathie

Oh - Gotta love those LOCKS! You are beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ladies!!
I am trying to take my mind off the scan I did today!! Yikes!! It was easy now the tough part begins...WAITING. The tech did say he didnt see anything grossly abnormal..whatever that means! I pray its good news.
Anyhow, the Vegas thread is up. Its a place to update and brainstorm about our trip in September and it is where the sign up list will always appear. Its under 1st Ta Ta Sisterhood reunion in Vegas. Its under the reconstruction thread area.
Annie...are you going to Vegas with us?? I am SOOOOOOOOO happy you are doing good! I knew you would come throughh with flying colors!!
Luv ya ladies!!
Tracey
-
Jax you are beautiful, thanks for the close up pix : - )
I just thought I would share the easiest way to find the Vegas thread is to just click on traceyz name and see the post she made and click on it and do like I did save it in your favorites so you always have it handy.
I'm looking forward to doing that happy dance tomorrow for Tracey : - )
-
Jax,
Your locks are beautiful!!!!!!!!
xxoo Kathie
-
Thanks to all of you for your kind words.......I am just happy to be finished with the wig stage.......I know it's not at all what it used to be.....but hey it's hair....I'll take it......I'll post a pic of hair before chemo so you can see how blonde I used to be...........I had never ever coloured my hair before chemo.......and I can't believe how dark it's growing in......
-
Vinogal, you look great! Your hair is lovely - and so are you!
-
Tracy, Keeping our fingers crossed for your results.
Went to the PS today and can resume work half-time. He removed my stitches on the good exchange side and I'll get the stitches out from my hematoma evac next week. Feeling a little tired today and really wishing I were back to "normal."
-
Glad to hear that you are home and doing well Annie! Congratulations! Praying for the best path results ever!!
Kathie - I should have gotten on line and chatted with you as I was up as well! I had a day off today so it didn't seem as stressful when I knew that I really didn't have to get up at a certain time. Tonight I'm hoping for a better sleep as tomorrow is another day at work.
Kmmd - that is sad news to have your exchange delayed. I know the feeling as mine was delayed due to a slow healing incision. This whole process is just a hurry up and wait scenario.
All you girls talking about your fipples are giving me fipple envy! LOL I am quite anxious and excited about getting one! I have a bit of harvested rib cartilage that is living in my groin area and it will one day be my fipple. Until then it is just a bump that gets in the way when I have to shave to wear a bathing suit!! Oh the trials!
Hi Cathee, I know that it sure helps me to share my thoughts here though I sometimes feel a bit guilty for feeling down when there are so many UP people here. But then....all those up girls sending encouragement only brightens my world. (((((((((((((((Cathie))))))))))). Hope you feel a bit brighter soon! I agree with Jean, you can't have a good pity party alone!!!
Jax- love the new locks! You look hot!!!!
Tracey - Praying for nothing new to show up on your scans. Keeping a positive vibe in my heart for you!
My dh and I spent the weekend at a hotel holiday with his sister and her dh. They are our winter vacation partners and we had to cancel our holiday this year due to my surgery. In lieu we met up for the weekend and they surprised us with a mini all-inclusive vacation. (Which means they brought every drink and snack they could think of plus had dinner reservations at a few very neat restaurants). It was really cute idea and we had a great time with them. I think I gained 5 pounds from all the wonderful meals and now have withdrawal from Baileys as I had Bailey's in my morning coffee for 3 days!!!! They made sure to get a hotel with a hot tub so it almost felt tropical. I was sure wishing my incision was healed and that I could have gotten in deeper than my waist, but oh well! No complaints. On the incision saga...it looks much better these days and is down to the size of a quarter. I think if I lay of the spring cleaning this week it will probably heal way better. All my cleaning efforts made my incision open up a bit more last week. That wasn't the really hard part though, my dh saying "I told you so" so the hard part. LOL.
-
JAX ...What an awesome hairstyle. You are beautiful!!
traceyz....I will be "crossing everything" waiting for your results!
val61...we may be neighbors. I am visiting my daughter for 6 mo. in Coppell, Tx near Dallas.
Jean ...thank you for the kind words.
Laura...You sound like your ole perky self. Hope the rads aren't getting you down too much.
Hugs to all,
-
Jax - I love the new look is so much younger looking on you!!!
-
I am wondering once I finish Chemo. what is the average wait time until exchange ?? Does anyone know. I will be fully expanded by the end of this month and I finish Chemo in May and I am hoping for an end of June exchange. Do you think that is too soon ??
Thanks for your help

Good thoughts and prayers to all you ladies having your exchanges this week/
Laura....you hang in there with your rads....warm thoughts for healing going out to you .
Must have over done the activity this weekend and I even went out to a birhday party for a friend, but wow was I tired today. I know everyone heals and progresses at their own pace....so my advice to all of you .......take it easy, no points given for pushing yourself to fast and far....Elaine
-
Cathee,
Don't feel bad about posting a down comment...I posted at 4:30 am and got nothing but support!!!!
-
Ladies........thank you soooooo much for all the compliments.......just what I needed to hear......I was worried about heading to Vegas with no boobs and super short hair.....but you have all made me feel so much more confident....
Love you all!
Jax
-
Yep Jax,
I agree you look GREAT!
Ladies, thanks so much for all the prayers and crossed fingers as we await my results. There is so much support here and I appreciate it sooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luv ya!

Ladies I just got some good news that a gal I met on here about 3 weeks ago got her onco score back and it was a 16 which might mean no chemo. So I got to do the happy dance again.
Tracey sweet heart I know I'll be doing it again tomorrow : )
ok I'm finally going to go back and read through all these post I've missed for the last couple of days. I will warn you I'm a slow reader and typer so it may be a while before I post again lol
-
Jax,
I wanted to add also that you look beautiful, youthful, happy and healthy! Don't worry about those things, you are a warrior! I believe that every one of us are strong, confident, powerful women and should be examples to all women everywhere! (At least that is what I declared after my first shower after my mastectomy- I had very good drugs!)
-
Sandy, yay for your friend!! That is such great news!!
Jax -- LOVE the extensions. Wow!! Very cool!
Tracey, I have such a good feeling about your scan, can't wait to hear the good news tomorrow!!
It's going to take me awhile to learn who everyone here is now that I finally wandered over here. LOL I'll figure it out eventually!
Laura, thanks for the woohoo on the nips!LOL I'm starting to get excited now that I've finally decided I'm going ahead with it.
Off to bed -- I've been staying up WAY too late at night and that 6:15 alarm comes WAY too early!LOL
