Thanks everyone much appreciated

Hi Ladies For those of you post exchange, I just got an email from SOMA that their 50% off sale starts tomorrow. I love their wireless bras (still in TEs).
I thought this might be helpful info for those post exchange and on a few other boards. It is online and in stores.

shorfi - Surgery 04/09/2014 Reconstruction: Breast implants (permanent) (Both) Good luck tomorrow!
-
Shorfi.....I had to be medicated before being taken in to the O.R. before both surgeries. Well, to say I "had" to be isn't true. But, the staff could see I was struggling, and offered me something to get me through it. I gladly accepted. I was so afraid that I was convinced it was a premonition....like I just "knew" something horrible was going to happen to me in the O.R. I don't even want to tell you the details of what was going through my mind. Imagine my surprise when I ended up about as routine as can be, according to my P.S! I have never been much of a worrier, but this cancer has thrown me for a loop, and caused me to become somebody I don't like sometimes. I don't like being sad, worried, etc. One of my goals is to get my OLD SELF BACK!!! I DO think it's possible.....
As far as pain meds go. I took the 'good stuff' for 3 days post exchange. (I think I only took 1 dose on day 3). I also went back to my BMX meds and took a muscle relaxer that third day....I thought it might help with some of the very bizarre stuff I was feeling that I wouldn't say was pain worthy of narcotics. It helped....I think....who knows....I fell asleep :-)
AZ....I would love to meet you someday. You always say the kindest, most caring things....and you sound like a lot of fun! I get to AZ about once a year....maybe someday a glass of wine? Or a coffee?
Love and prayers for you all...hang in there!!!

mnmbeck - Just let me know when and where!
-
AZ...I'm up and so ready to get this over. Thanks for thinking about me and I will keep calm and carry on
Mnnbeck...I usually have meltdowns prior to being wheeled in the OR. My mind usually goes to the darkest places and they always have to give me something to relax me.
I will have my support team with me and that helps a lot! My sweet husband, my son from my previous marriage, along with his father...haha, my former MIL, former BIL, SIL, my sister and my best friend is flying up on Friday. Lots of support but still scary.
Oh well...off to take shower and will check in with you ladies later on. Thank you ladies too for your support!
-
shorfi - You're going to be just fine - you just wait and see...
See you on the squishie side tomorrow!!!
-
Shorfi. I am a little bit jealous of your fantastic support team. Good luck. Keep positive. Wish I was there too.

Zennurse - exchange surgery 4/7/14
-
I just had my exchange on Monday 4/7. It has brought me some relief reading these posts as my breast are of the flat and wide variety after recent surgery. I'm so glad to hear that they will change somewhat with drop and fluff! (at least I hope mine will). Thanks!
-
Congratulations zennurse! Welcome to the squishy side! Yes, you WILL see changes over the next several weeks or even months. Be patient
.
-
Good luck Shorli! I'll be going in Friday, so will be right behind you!
Love and hugs,
Di
-
Dtk and shorfi we'll be in your pockets!
Zenurse welcome to the squishie side! Enjoy not having bruises on your underarm! LOL
Much love to all.

My TEs were inserted/installed/placed ; ) on Feb 25, at the same time my non-cancerous breast was removed. I found out yesterday that my PS started me out with 120cc of saline at that time. Then 6 weeks later (yesterday) she added 60cc to each side. The plan is for me to receive 60cc each week for the next 4 weeks. I'm 5'10" tall and seem to be unusual in that I don't want to be as large as I was before (42C). Because I didn't see my PS again before the surgery, and I didn't know about different TEs for different types of implants, she was surprised with my request for contoured implants at the time of my " mark up". After consulting with her colleagues before the surgery, she feels we can still use the gummy bear ones (she is thinking the Allergan 410s). I am 64 and want a natural look. Hopefully all of this works out! I already feel so much better with my baby boobs than I did with my one sided mastectomy. My clothes fit well and my outlook is positive because I feel I have taken charge of my life.

grama check with whippet mom if you haven't already. Breast implant 101. She may be able to help.
-
Just got caught dancing to "Waiting for Superman" ...(4 wks after revision). PS said no bouncing now. I need to chill but I feel so good, finally! You will too. I love you, hang in there.
-
grammakathy - From one tall girl to another, post your questions over here:
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/44/topic/746448?page=351#idx_10521
This is whippetmom's thread and she knows everything there is to know about TEs and implants. Trust us, she's the BEST!
-
yay friendships!!! Still feeling quite tight/restricted 13 days after exchange. Hoping it will get better!!!
-
GrammaKathy - Another tall girl joining in. Just wanted you to know that I too wanted to be smaller!! You may have to push for it since most docs seem to like bigger. You'll like the thread AZ sent.
-
thank you ladies! My PS seems OK when I asked to be smaller. She changed the TEs she inserted from 500cc to 400cc at my surgery. So far everything has been easy for me. My cancer Mx surgery had me dazed for about 3 weeks but after this one I was myself immediately when I woke up. The TEs haven't been much trouble and my first fill was easy. Now that I have written this, it'll probably change!
-
To all of you amazing, busy ladies who are pre or post exchange...Hang in there!!!
-
Dulcigirl.....LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Dulcigirl - If I were ten twenty years younger, I'd take a run at that!
-
Hi Shorli. I hope things went well!
Thank you Moonflower! One more day of work! I can hardly wait to be squishy again.
Kathy - I also opted to go smaller and am 5'9", although just going down from 34 DD to a full C. I decided on cohesive silicone after reading some of the posts in the "All About Gummies" thread, but everyone has different wants and expectations and you need to please yourself. As it turned out, my PS doesn't use the gummies, so they wouldn't have been an option unless I changed surgeons (and I love my PS).
Dulcigirl - great photo!
Diane.
-
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the best Ryan G. meme ever! Love it.
-
Good afternoon ladies...surgery went well. I'm a little loopy from Dilaudid, and will chat about the details later. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers.
-
YAY, shorfi!!!!!
Go get some rest! Happy Squishy Day!!!!!!!!!!
-
Good to hear from you!!!!! shorfi Rest well and welcome to the quishy side!!
-
