Gina, thanks for such a loving tribute. I will read it again and again. Barbara

That was a beautiful tribute gina. I think of you and deb every day when I see the 'no surrender' button she sent way back when. I have a little stuffed camel that doubles as a duster for the computer and it prominently displays my no surrender button on top of my monitor. It's always made me feel like I have a special connection to her, and you. I will miss her tremendously.

Thank you Gina. How blessed you are to have shared such a special friendship with an amazing soul. Deb is and was one of the most upbeat ladies I have ever come in contact with. I could always get a laugh when feeling low, after reading one of her funny stories.
The part about the dogs sent chills through my body. Thank you for sharing with us. It came on a day where I really needed to read all of that! Maybe Deb knew!
God Bless you!

Gina
I am just in tears reading it....it was just SO Deb.
Thankyou for sharing with us Debs last days, I am so pleased they ended in peace after the terrible time she had, she was a true trooper.
I will be releasing my balloon at 11pm here in UK, tho snow and high winds are forecast, so it might not quite get up high enough to reach our Deb.
Isn't it strange about her dogs, that was the bit that ate at my heart, I think of all my own dogs, and the flippin' hullabaloo they'd kick up for me, they'd surely bring in the police chopper to see me out !!
Isabella.

G ... thanks for posting the tribute to Deb. Still can't get my head around the fact that she is really gone.
Also, I've been looking everywhere for the pic you posted of Deb. It's one of my favorites. I'm going to copy it and save it.
Love you,
Brenda

Thank you G...through my tears...again.
Deb was indeed a special wonderful woman and I will miss her so much. I feel blessed to have met her at Pinkstock and reading her letters and cards will be forever treasured. I love my "no surrender" button along with the "cancer sucks" and Pinkstock bottons...
What a hole she leaves in our hearts...
I had a great pic of her in the portapotty with the Glenda dress on that I lost when my computer crashed. If anyone has a copy I would dearly love to replace it.
Love all

Just wanted to say that the news piece done in AK was awesome. A fitting tribute to her .. gosh all the roses!!!

Yes Gina Deb is magic..............the type of person you seldom encounter in life that makes you want to just hang onto her for the ride because you just know it is going to be fun...........what is interesting is to know that how we all felt about her here at bc.org it was not just us but to hear other people from over there (outside of cancerworld) how they were also included in Deb's magical carpet ride.............jeez she will be missed...........I think so many of us would log on and look for her avatar to see if she had posted.........it has been such a long time since October............now we will just have to be wait until we get to the wagon circle in Heaven............Shokk

Hey Gina...I had to put that balloon on a string to cut at the right hour as I wont be here...could you please send it up for me?
-
GIna thank you so much for your beautiful tribute to Deb. I didn't get to know her online, but reading your words, I feel like. My favorite play and line has always been the one you quoted from "Our Town" - since high school when I saw it performed by one woman on our school stage..........it moved me then and still does. Life is truly a gift .........and Deb obviously had a talent for sharing her gift - as you do Gina. Thanks again and may sunshine follow you all the rest of your days.
-
I just sent up Deb's balloons. Socal, I got one for you.
I drove to the beach, put on the Pinkstock CD to "I hope you dance"
blasted it, opened the windows and then took the balloons out.
I let them go and they went up toward the trees and as they got close to them the suddenly lifted higher, like she grabbed them. I watched them until I couldn't see them anymore. It is late dusk here, but they went so high I don't think I would have been able to see them in broad daylight.
You dance now, Deb. You are free.
Love to all of you,
g -
Gina, you are a beautiful person. Reading your words made me feel better.
"You are free."
Love and prayers, Deb -
I wrote this on another thread but thought that I would include it here as well.
Today at 2:00 Alaska Time many of us released a balloon in the air to honor Deb. So here in Texas my DH and I went to a local lake, said a prayer of thanks for having Deb in my life at a very tough time and ask God's healing love for Deb's family as you are grieving.
We released the balloon with AlaskaDeb's name written on it and it immediately soared over the lake and caught an updraft and just kept going. My DH and I were amazed at how long we could see it because it was nearing sunset. The sun somehow kept reflecting off the pink balloon and shone like a beacon for several minutes. Deb was a beacon in so many lives that those minutes at the lake just felt so special.
My prayers continue to be with you all. God bless.
