My mother has been fighting cancer for 20 years. She is 67 and has had breast, uterine, cervical, follopian tube, and now has lung, and breast that has spread.  Yesterday the doctor said she has a spot on her liver and that this is bad, but not the time to have conversation's about quality vs. quantity.

I asked him when do we ask her if she wants to stop the chemo . He stated that by the time she get's to that point she will be so sick that it will not matter.

She is active and starting chemo every week now.   What does he mean by a spot on the liver. Is this breast cancer that has spread ? Is this a new cancer?

My mom can't be bothered to get a second op.  How much time does she have, not that any os us can really say.

I just know that things on the liver are not good.

 What do I do ?

It sounds like it may be liver mets, breast cancer that has spread to the liver.  I don't know much, but my mother is 61 and has been diagnosed with metastatic bc to the liver, lungs and pelvic area.  She is undergoing palliative treatments right now, radiation to relieve pain.  I do know that there are wonderful women in the Recurrance and Metastic Disease forum who are living with and fighting liver mets who will share with you.  You may want to read some of there posts or post there for support.

     Best of luck.
