Has anyone had these side effects???
OK, I had the blackened toenail since I started Taxol. It was sore, but I was managing. Finished my last of 12 treatments and still having side effects. Last night was a nightmare. I had pain in the blackened toe. It hurt down to the bone. I took 5 mg., then 2 hours later another 5 mg. then 2 hours later another 5 mg - and nothing! The pain was excrutiating. Then 3 hours after that I took 10 mg. (at once) of Vicadin. Then it began to subside (just a little). Three hours later and I took another 10 mg. and finally - the pain subsided, but it's still sore. And I have never had to take pain medication like that before. Then this morning I woke up really late, and though my toe is still plenty sore, the heel of my other foot hurt. Like the bone hurts. So I look at it and it has a sore on it - like a burn. Like a cigarette burn or something. A circle. I touch it and it really hurts (so far haven't had to take any pain meds.) It's like a blister or something. When I got the black toenail, my onc didn't believe it was chemo (I knew it was) and then finally he belived me, so .... I just want to know if ANYONE out there has had skin problems with TAXOL. And it's been a week since my last treatment! I really hope someone can help me with this. Please send me some feedback. I just want to know if anyone else has had blister like sores or any skin condition. There was a post re: Toenail and skin, but did not address this newest SE of a blister like circle on my left foot. Waiting for your replies. God Bless us all. - DebiSongbird

I don't have blistering on my heel, but I have and still do have a red sore ring all around the calloused part of my heels.......it does get painful to walk on at times.......also the calloused part of the heels is peeling off......feels like you're walking on pins............I got the red ring after starting A/C and the heel peeling after starting Taxol........
Hugs

Thank you to both of you ladies for responding. Yeah, the thing is, when you know there is at least one other person who understands or who had the same thing happen, it somehow makes me be less fearful. I had never heard of the red circle (or blister like thing) so I was freaked. My toe, in fact, entire foot still hurts. Have a dr. appnt. tommorrow. Thanks, again, ladies. You helped.- Debz

I will tell you this Debi, forgot earlier, I use Vaseline on my heels and then put socks on...seems to help with the heels.......I also wear bedroom slippers all day for the padding........
