MSK Oncologists?

I am wondering if anyone has experience with either of these 2 oncologists at Memorial Sloan Kettering:  Dr. Nancy Sklarin or Dr. Monica Fornier? I'm trying to make a decision regarding which one to elect as my oncologist, and once I do, it's permanent.

Has anyone used either of these doctors??

Thanks,

Liz

Hi elizzim, I have found your post doing research on Dr. Fornier.  I hope that everything went great for you and the treatment was successful!

My mom was just scheduled to see Dr. Fornier after a mastectomy.  As you know, once you see a doctor at MSKCC, it's very difficult to switch to another.  So I am trying to find out as much as I can about Dr. Fornier.  If you ended up treating with Dr. Fornier and willing to share any thoughts about her, I would greatly appreciate it.

All the best and thank you in advance!

I really think at MSK, it comes down to personality. They are fairly protocol driven, the treatment advice is consistent. You want someone you click with.

Menelao, did you find someone you liked? I just had surgery at Sloan, and am now scheduled to meet with a medical oncologist selected by my surgeon. But I'd like to hear MO recommendations from other patients.

Plus I have osteoporosis, and Monica Fornier's profile describes that as one of her research and treatment specializations.

YDY, did your mother stay with Dr. Fornier? I just had surgery at Sloan, and am now scheduled to meet with another medical oncologist selected by my surgeon. But I have osteoporosis, and Dr. Fornier is an expert in that.

I like Mary Ellen Moynahan. I posted on another forum: She can seem abrupt at first, but she's thorough, compassionate, and she really, really cares.
