Oh Pam how awful for a young person (or any age) to have this experience! Please relay to his family my sympathies and that he is in my prayers, as well as his family and all who are connected to this young man. I pray for a quick and uneventful recovery, I pray for the wisdom and skillful hands of those caring for him. I pray his family knows and feels the support and warm hugs of the almighty during this dark time. May the light of healing and love come quickly.

Pam, will get my life group to pray for Matt also, there is power in prayer. Bless you and your family.
-
Thank You Spar.
Matt is making little improvements each day. He is still on the Ventilator...But is breathing on his own & it is just there for a precaution.
Here is part from his Journal
"He was seriously injured. Most of the trauma is to his face. He has broken bones in his face around his eyes, his nose is broken, along with his jaw. Matt broke a rib and punctured a lung, broke his pelvic bone, and also his hip, and has road rash covering his face and the front and right side of his body. Matt will probably be in the ICU for a few weeks"
Wow, He has a very long road to recovery.
He will be having Surgery on his Face tomorrow if it is not canceled again.
Please keep him in your prayers.

Still praying and grateful for any little improvements.

Dear Lord, please be with Matt as he begins this long journey back to health and well being. Bring him the strength and faith he will need.
In my prayers, Elaine

How did Matt's surgery go? Please give us an update soon. Still praying for him, friends, and family.
-
Hi Spar,
Thank you for asking.
Thank you Elaine for your Lovely Prayer.
His surgery went very well.
After surgery things seemed to get worse.
He was down to breathing only 50% on his own for 24hr. As of last night he was back to 100% breathing on his own! And his BP kept elevating. They had to sedate him more to get it down. Something they are trying to avoid.
His family talked alot with his Drs yesterday.
I think what they told him...Is its been too long. He needs to open his eyes & wake up fully.
I hope today will be that day.

Good news.
Hes out of ICU as of last night.
He is not acting like himself yet. Doesnt remember always what year it is...And is very angry at anyone who comes to see him. he swears & yells mean things. The drs say it is from a week of meds & being Unconcious. I sure hope that is all it is.
He keeps pulling out his IV & Pic line.

What good news! progress toward healing is always good! How frightening it must be for him, in addition to trauma of the accident, to have lost a week, banged and battered, all kinds of things done to him, medications etc.
I pray for continued progress, both physical, mental and emotional. I pray that others do not take his anger personally, and all find strength to keep going.
Thank you Pam
-
And they just found more broken bones in his legs, Knees both have some broken bones & I think that Ankle one- the Ouch one. Forget what its called.
Why are they finding out this a 10 days later?
Thank you Elaine,
Pam
-
Oh wow, deal with most life threatening first I suppose, or maybe not able to get him to machines to dx some of these other things. Prayers, prayers and more prayers for all invlved in the care, family and of course Matt.

Thought I would post an update. (its been 3 weeks tonight)
Matt was moved to the rehabilitation floor about 9 days ago. Rehabilitation started out very bad...But is going good now, though Very hard & exhausting for him. They said that is to be expected with all his body injuries & his brain injury.
He was playing cards! And getting his sense of humor back.
Please keep him & his family in your prayers.
