Sue~ Yay for the mostly good news. Boo-hiss for chemo. I'm so relieved to hear that you got clean scans. Great news!!!!!!!!!!!
xxoo
-
Kerry~ ((Hugs)) I hope that Jack's problem is an easy fix and please do not beat yourself up. You had no way of knowing.
Susan~ Thrilled that your scans are all clear. I am sorry that you are facing chemo again but i am hopeful that you will be dancing with NED for a long time.
-
hang in there Susan.. i lost my hair twice.. and face chemo again, maybe soon. wish you weren't dissappointed.
hoping the long haul is LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG
-
Susan, all sounds good! I know it is hard to face more Chemo, but I have been reading great things about Avastin. Lets hope it gives you a long, long haul (like 40 years, right!)
-
Thanks everyone... I know I need to feel hopeful and THANKFUL that it was caught before it got way out of hand. Trying to focus on the good things.... I know one thing for sure is that I am very glad now that my onc. does tumor markers at every visit. As much as they cause anxiety, if it wasn't for that we never would have found this out.
Have a great day!
-
(((Susan))) I am so happy to hear the scans are clear!
Judy, the Ann Arbor Art Fair would be very fun! I lived in Ann Arbor before moving to VA. I love that town! Although the cost of living is very high!
Kerry, I am so jealous that you are able to run again!
I am like you and only read and post on this thread. I hope your Jack will be on the mend with minimal stress and siscomfort for you all.
Apple, I love the color of the cabinets!
Michele, I had ambien, vicodin and robaxin to help me sleep at night. I thought ice helped a lot when I was at work. Congratulations on your associate professorship and tenure. Did you know my husband is a proffesor in computer information systems at James Madison University? I know what a great thing tenure is to professors!
Sea-of-luck (Rosa) I admire how you are keeping your sense of humor and love for life up while doing the dreaded chemo. Everyone, these are pictures from our dinner at the Melting Pot restaurant the night before her second to last round.
-
Great photos Cheryl! Yummy, Fondue! You're in the home stretch now Rosa!
We are taking a long weekend and heading off to the Cottage, with Angus' parents, brothers, and an Aunt! It's Fathers day, Angus' birthday, and my MIL's birthday. So, I get to do all the work. LOL! Should,be a nice weekend though, and it is going to be stinking hot, so happy to be by the lake. Enjoy the weekend all!
-
Have fun Kerry!
Great pics Cheryl!
Susan~ I'm thinking your surgery is today... If I'm correct, good luck!! {{{hugs}}}
Rosa~ How much longer? You are almost done!!!
-
Michele , it's next Friday the 25th:-)
-
Hope everyone had a great weekend : )
Sue, I'm glad to hear all your scans were clear : ) Sorry about the chemo, I don't think the Avastin alone causes hair loss, just thinning (my friend was on it for lung cancer). So maybe there will be a chance you won't lose it all...
Kerry: any luck with an appt for your son yet? how is he doing? Looks like you had a nice time at your cottage (saw pics on FB). I was at a campground with my sister this weekend, it's been a long time, I forgot how much fun camping is.
Cheryl: the art fair is July 21-24th...I'll have to go back a few pages to see if those were the dates you mentioned you'll be up here. If not, we'll do lunch again : ) Ok, I found it, you'll be here before then, so lunch it is! The art fair gets kinda crazy anyway...if the band happens to get a gig, I'll let you know.
Rosa: glad that you're almost done, and sound in good spirits : ) Love the new avatar, lol. Don't miss your leg hair!! It's nice to not have to shave, I'm back to shaving it constantly and my legs don't like it one bit! Ouch!

well, it's been quite a week. We lost our dear mother Saturday and her funeral is tomorrow. The good news is that i don't have to go on chemo yet. We are trying another antihormonal. my mother was the dearest person ever. She had a wonderful death and didn't suffer or languish in long term care.
She has always been ready to move on to her afterlife.
-
(((apple))) My goodness, sweetie, what a stressful time you're having. I'm so very sorry for the loss of your sweet mother, and I'm glad she went quickly and easily. *hugs*
That's wonderful news about not having to do chemo ~ yay!
-
Mary, I cannot tell you how sorry I am about your mother, I know how hard it is to lose your mom
Hope everyone else is doing ok; we're all keeping busy, as I can tell from how quiet it is here and even on FB...ah, summertime.
-
LOl, Judy, I have noticed that. It does get quiet.
Mary, I too am so sorry to hear about your Mum.
Judy - hope Julia is on the mend.
Hope everyone else is doing well.
-
Apple I am sorry for you loss
I have been running like a crazy lady getting things together for a wedding that I am photographing done. I can't believe it is the end of june already.
Today we are heading to DC to go to some museum. I just hope it is worth it. It is supposed to be 99 degrees today so it is going to be a little HOT. -

-
thinking of you too.. Sue

Hi everyone!
Surgery went well Friday, thanks for all your well wishes!
Surgeon said he "didn't see anything", so we are assuming it was microscopic in the uterus as well. But, I won't rest until I hear the path report. The pain is NOT BAD AT ALL! Completely amazing that I had a hysterectomy and am walking around just 2 days after surgery. Web was right, the Da Vinci method is the way to go! I have 5 tiny incisions, and a flap of stitches on the inside. Now just have to wait for Onc. appt on the 7th to see what his game plan is for me as far as chemo goes.
Apple, hope you and your family are doing well.
Sue
-
Apple, so sorry for the loss of your mother.
Susan, good luck with the path report.
-
Sue, so glad you are doing well, when will you get the results from your path report?
Hope everyone is doing well. Apple, my thoughts are still with you, I hope you are doing ok.
Julia is possibly coming home tomorrow, although she says she still feels sick. Maybe getting some 'real' sleep once she's home will help. We totally cleaned her room out, pulled up her carpet, and stained her wood floors purple, she will be very happy to see it (she has no idea we did all this) The purple floor is just temporary, lol, when she moves out someday, we will cover it.
-
Sue - glad to hear the surgery was so easy for you! Fingers crossed for a clean path! Let us know about Chemo.
Judy - hope Julia gets home today. She is going to be delighted with her room, that was a lovely thing to do for her!!
We took Jack to his pediatrician yesterday, he also thinks his problem is Cataracts, he sees no connection with any underlying health issue. So, if that is the case it will mean surgery, but at least it is something straightforward and fixable.
It's the last day of school here. The kids are excited! Hope everyone has a great one!
-
Judy~ That was so sweet for you to do that for Julia. I hope she gets to come home today.
Kerry~ I hope that everything goes well with Jack's eyes ((hugs)).
Sue~ I hope you continue to feel better everyday and that next week brings some good news.
I have been running like crazy and I am finally slowing down
. Hopefully I get a little break and then I will start back up again. I believe I am getting an ear infection and it is driving me crazy because it hurts
. I am very excited to report that I did a wedding on Saturday and not only did I make it thru and I think I did okay I was able to move the next day. This is a huge milestone for me since going thru chemo and surgeries. I have not advertised for a single wedding since diagnosis and I now know that I am able to do them as before (if not better).
Next week I have an oncologist appt. on Friday which I am dreading. I have been removed from the clodronate due to digestive issue so I am sure that my appt. will be finished with donating some blood

hi gals.. i do miss mom .. she was the best. As i told my siblings.. it is far better that we suffer the sudden passing of our mom, than she languish in long term care (of which she was deathly afraid).
We are behind in our moving tasks, but things are coming along.. we'll start moving mid July.
Femara is not working so good for me so I'm going to try a different drug. (maybe i mentioned that.. no chemo yet).
still thinking of you Susan and your dear son Jack, Kerry.. best of luck to everyone.
