Jaimie~ I would be upset too... ouch.  But, being boobless won't be so bad.

So... my oldest had a friend spend the night Fri night.  The boy woke in the am with a cough and fever.  Got tested yesterday, and YES, swine flu. uggggh.  What's worse is that my ds is sick today and is (right now) at the ped being tested.  I just can't deal with this now.... just can't...  I *have* to get these damn teeth out Wed. I doubt that they'll even want me to walk in the door if I've been exposed.<sigh> Not to mention, I have 2 other kids that I don't want to get sick... <more sighing>

    i can't believe it Michele..

hopefully the exposure (if it is such)will be an early 'swineflushot' for you.  tho untimely, it might be a good thing all in all.

(i am so sick of the overnite thing)  i'm thinking of banning them all together.

Thanks Kerry :)  I will be back I have resigned to the fact that if I lose this set of implants I will be moving on to a flap in the spring after I am done with herceptin.

well, he tested negative but then the MD told DH that the test is only 60% accurate.  He didn't give him tamiflu.  I'm debating on whether to call my oncologist or not.  As an aside, I started effexor a couple of days ago and am SO SICK from it.  I'm throwing up and soooooo dizzy (can't walk in a straight line).  Of course, I think I have a tumor. Ha! But, really, this started after the effexor.  I'm done with it. No more for me.

Jaimie~ I did lots of reading/research on foobs and I think that the flaps are the way to go (for me anyway) if you can do it.  However, being boobless has its advantages too.  Such a hard decision!!  I'm sorry your implants are giving you such trouble.

Oh no Michele your SE are from Effexor and they normally take about 2 weeks and then everything does get better.  I don't blame you for not wanting to take it anymore.  I was on it a couple years ago and if I forgot one or was late taking it I felt drunk the entire day.

I have been researching the hell out of what could be happening to my implants :(  It just stinks...

Which one would you do Michele ??  I was told I do not have enough belly fat for DIEP, I do not want to lose anymore upper body strength so no lat flap, so I am left with the possible options of IGAP or SGAP.

Oh, Michelle, I sure hope the flu doesn't go through your household.  Jaimie is right, if you suddenly quit taking an anti-depressant it makes you REALLY woozy.  The trick is to keep taking it.  But if it's making you nauseated, I'd quit it too.

Having just come off chemo, are we supposed to get the flu shot?? Has anyone been advised?  I haven't heard and I don't see my oncologist for another wk or 2.

Jaimie, I met with some Colorado folks who post on this board and they had this special flap reconstruction surgery where they took the skin from your buns.  There were 2 or 3 of them who'd had it and we had a show & tell in the restaurant's bathroom.  They had to go out of state to get it though--New Orleans I believe.  PM me if you need more info on it and I can connect you to them.  They post all the time on the reconstruction board.

    Kerry~ So cute!!!

    Jaimie~ I'd go here for a consult:

    http://www.breastcenter.com/

I can't have any of the tummy procedures either... and I won't consider te LatFlap for the reason you mentioned. So, one of the GAPs (or implants).

egad... poor baby.. sorry you're having a rough time.

molasses  - a couple tblsps straight (super sugar hit plus a big dose of iron) usually gets me out of the doldrums.  really.  I don't eat many of those sweet carbs tho and a sugar rush is pretty special.

KerryMac ~ I still have no period, and the "I'm about to start" feelings are gone.  I hope it never comes back; I was counting on that as the one good thing out of all this mess, lol!  Cuddle Duds are thermal underwear except they're thin and sort of satiny; much better than waffleweave!

Judy ~ The table is gorgeous!  As a University of Georgia fan, I heartily approve of your red-n-black color scheme. Wink  My niece doesn't have swine flu; she's just been exposed to it.  Her OB put her on Tamiflu and so far, so good.

Marybe ~ Did you go to the Buckeyes game, or were you talking about watching it on TV?  I watched my Dawgs on TV since I couldn't get out to OK; then I was glad to have saved myself the trip since we played so poorly.
    Yell

Jamie ~ No!!  Not more trouble with your healing.  Oh you poor dear. Frown  So glad you got the stint out!

Michele ~ YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!  So happy that you've finished chemo!!  Yay!!

apple and Michele ~ you ladies look wonderful!

Cheryl ~ great cake, honey!  And you're looking great!  Happy Birthday!

Michele ~ Yikes...swine flu?!  I hope you and yours stay well.  I think I'd call my onco nurse, though, and let them know I'd been exposed.

Kerry ~ Your children are adorable! Laughing

    Hugs to all,
    Artemis

odd... you'd think an anti flu med would not make you nauseous.  the more i take drugs the less i like them.. there always is a action/reaction pendulum  (altho my pain killers get a pass at 1/2 doze for now).

Oh, Michele, I am sorry you don't seem to be getting a break these days. Hope you get no SE's at all, and NO FLU!!

Apple - my Arimidex tabs come in a nifty little blister pack with the days of the week on them, so you make sure you don't double up or miss a dose. I always think I have taken too many or forgotten, even when i have just taken them.

Artemis - great to hear from you - hope all is going well!  I gotta get me some cuddle-duds!! Hope your neice is OK - when is the baby due.

Michele~ I hope you can skip the SE on the Tamiflu

Kerry~ I love the pictures of your kids.  I cried the first day of school for my daughter.

I am back from the PS well I was earlier but my DH is having a fantasy football draft so I had to hide the junk in the house...heheh...  I still have my foobies and my PS was pleased with the blood flow to the area.  Last time I didn't have any blood flow but this time when she started poking around the area protested and I started bleeding.  So I got opened and restitched using another technique for the stitches oh and for good measure I got glue and steri strips.  On the other side which is a itty bitty opening I got glue and strips.  My PS thinks that this time I am just spitting the stitches out instead of absorbing them....great :(  The bad part is I also could feel more of the stitching even with lidocane.  My nerves have really started regenerating which they didn't do after my last surgery.  So my foobie looks like it just lost a battle but we are hoping that I can keep them.

I did get to talk to my PS and she doesn't do microsurgery so I would have to transfer to another doctor which is not what I want to do right now.  I looked at the website Michele gave me and if I have to go the flap route and I going to go someplace that is going to make the girls look great :)  I was also told I would need to gain some weight to get to the size I want to be...

    whoohoo! Jaimie's keeping her foobies!

I can't remember if I posted here or not but I'm getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow.  I'm really, really scared.  Pls, lots of prayers!

Michele~ I promise you will be fine.  You may look like you have been beaten up but it will be okay.  I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth cut out while I was in high school and I took 1/4 of a perc. and then switched to tylenol.  I didn't think the pain was bad it was finding something that I could eat was the hard part.  I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and wishing you a smooth recovery.  I think you will feel so much better after they are gone.

Michele - sending hugs and courage. Hope it goes OK. No fun, I know, but then it will be done with. Focus on how much better you will feel in a few days. After all you have been through in the last 10 months, you will ace this!

Jaimie - well, that is good news. You have tenacious foobies! Hope you keep getting better, this must be no fun for you at all.

School went really well for Emily yesterday. She is such a good girl! Jack starts half day Junior Kindergarten today, will see how he does. I am spending the afternoon going fake boobie shopping! I have just had a soft fiber-filled thing since my Mx, I was told to wait until after rads to get a properly fitted one. So, today is the day! I'm gonna buy me some sexy underwear too!

Hi girls, can't believe I haven't been on here in a few days.....lots going on here. We are doing a full-out rush job to get son's bedroom done before school starts, so I've been sanding, priming, painting with hubby....still won't be ready on time, but we're getting close to being finished! Oh the aches and pains, though...my body isn't ready for this kind of work. But it's a labor of love, lol

My onc wants me to come in and get a 'work--up" to make sure all my body pain is being caused by nerves.....you'd think I'd be nervous, but everything I am feeling and everything I have read really leads me to believe this is from the Taxol....and definitely carpal tunnel in the hands. So I'm not too nervous.

Jaimie: I'm glad your PS thinks your foobs will be ok, and I certainly hope so, you have been through so much already, and I hope this is it, no more holes!

Michele: thinking about you today, just remember, no straws when you drink....you don't want the clot to come out after surgery, that's how you get 'dry socket' and that is what causes the pain (it happened to me when I got my W teeth out 20 years ago).

Kerry: Hope your little one does ok his first day of school.....your kids are just so darned cute!

Cheryl: read about your DVT scare on FB, sooo glad it wasn't anything serious....how is your leg now?

We start school tomorrow here, can't believe my days of sleeping in are over. I had a hard time getting up at 8:30 this morning, don't know how I'm gonna pull off 6:30!!! Yuck.

    I'm off to paint, again.

    Hugs

    Judy

Michele ~ child, you just can't catch a break, can you?  I join the others in wishing you no SE's on Tamiflu, and I hope all goes well with the wisdom teeth.

Kerry ~ Yep, all is well here, thanks!  I order Cuddle Duds from OneHanesPlace.com; I don't know if they ship to Canada, though.  My niece's baby is due in November.   Have fun with your foobie and underwear shopping!!

Jamie ~ yay for keeping the foobies!

I survived yesterday.  Sore but OK.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  I have a house full of sick kids though... Kind of worried about DD.  She's never had the flu before (always has the vaccine) so we are in new territory... poor baby.
