I am finally back from my surgery, during which - oopsie! - my surgeon sliced into an artery, so I had to hang around being transfused.



My head is full of puffy purple clouds. I'll be back when it isn't anymore.

Thanks o2b, I've been doing the Snoopy happy dance since I heard, actually hugged my Gyno. and he pretty much keeps a foot long personal space, he did pat me on the back, whereupon I started meltdown crying followed by the Snoopy dance in the parking lot.

Karen - I won't even know what time I have to be at the hospital on Friday until late tomorrow afternoon.  I hate this waiting game.  I sure hope I don't have to wait for hours this time to have the procedure done.  It was literally an all day affair last June - at the hosp 6:00 am on a Saturday no less and finally made it home at 5:00 pm.  I will let everyone when I get my time.

That is such GREAT news Karen. I know it has to be a huge relief and certainly worthy of lots of happy dancing.

Maddy, wow, purple clouds. While that sounds pretty pleasant, the surgeon's oops does not. Maybe he/she was having nicotine withdraws? j/k

Karen - I'm sure you won't be too rowdy.  Just be aware that there will be a lot of other gals joining you in my pockets.  It is most likely going to be one heck of a party.  Bring it on!!

Tonight I went to a BBQ and sat with a former nonsmoker who's back to smoking.  Funny enough, no craving to have one.  Why oh why, is it always on my mind but when I sit there in the cloud of smoke, don't even think of it.  What gives?

JudiH, I can smell my daughter's first cig of the day and it smells so good, yet I cannot any longer picture myself lighting one up.  Those cigs are crazy little beasts!!

I have never thought cigarette smoke smelled good. Uck. When I was cheating I bummed them from my neighbor. However, when I talk to him across the fence and he is smoking I don't get any strong urges. I think it really is a mindset. When I am in the presence of the smoke, I know for a fact it is something I loathe. Now, I'm terrified to drink a beer. Well, there really is no such thing as one beer for me. ;>)  Anyway, I would like to drink a little to celebrate my retirement after I get off work Saturday. However, I am afraid my good mindset will slip away if I do that. So, remaining a non-smoker is far more important than celebrating my retirement.

  You know when I used to smoke I was ablivious to the smell...be it in the room, the car; or on me. Shortly before I quit a business associate asked me to place an estimate at the  multi-million dollar a year corporation his wife works for. I asked him for her opinion and the only this negative thing she had to say, was that I stunk like a cigarette (I had sucked one down in the truck before I went in). Now after only 7 short months of vaping as a healthy altenative, I can smell a smoker out of a group of people. I came out of Home Depot the other day and could smell a guy on break sucking one down, half a building away. But even more impressive I smelled a lady smoking two cars over at a red light!!! It seems clear to me that I had no idea how disgusting of a habit I had forced on everyone that came into contact with me. I only share all that to say that it's never to late to quit! Your loved one and others you come into contact will thank you!!! The added perk of not killing my loved ones with second hand smoke is priceless!!!

Karen, Dunesleeper and Steve-billi, we are all such non-smoking smokers.  We notice every smoke smell and I know I couldn't really smell it on me before.  But Steve-billi, you are so right.  Nonsmokers think we reeked!  Oh yah, tell that to my face!  But here we are sitting on the other side of the fence, and not passing judgement on others!  I think this is one strong trait!  Dunesleeper, do what you have to do to make it right for you!  Good luck and I do wish you enjoyment in your retirement .... I'm so jealous but not financially there yet.  Maybe in 3 years when I reach the ripe old age of 60 .... where did the time go?

Even when I quit a few years ago, I never noticed that my clothing smelled so bad coming out of a place where smoking occurred.  NOW I do and the clothes go out on the back porch until laundry time!

Galsal, you are so right!  Clothes go right in the laundry hamper - before I aired them out!  Aren't we so conscious!

I keep trying to paste, but won't happen. Anyways, what a terrible ordeal & a step of the process that should not have happened. I'm going to find a blog in here to write it all. my surgeon messed up by sending me home sick, staph infection. now I have 2 craters where my breasts used to be. I cry a lot when I see them.

i'm on 2000mg Keflex daily & a ton of other meds. signs that I had this infection was day after surgery. it's been the most horrendous ordeal . but the greatest news is G3 T1 S1  N0 M0 (NO LYMPHGLADS)

I'VE got about 6-10 mths of healing for the wounds.  waiting to get appt for Onc to find out everything & start treatment.

ok, back to bed for me.

Hi girls, just popping in to say hello. I'm doing well, surviving our heat wave. We are having several consecutive days of temps over 100 degrees! That makes it too blasted hot to go outside to smoke, ha! Hope you all are doing ok and hang in there, we can do this!!!

I agree with you LadyinBama - 100 degrees is a little hot to smoke in!  Hang in there - temp up here in Ontario is 32 degrees C.  We aren't in F.  Too bad as I get confused with these darn temps!

Bama and JudiH, we are in the high 80's, hot and humid, I'm staying pretty close to the AC unit.  Cannot even fathom the 100's, your cigarette would light itself!!  Two more months to football Bama, cannot wait to have my main Sat. and Sun. hobby!  hugs, Karen
