When I was diagnosed and met the breast cancer surgeon at a highly rated cancer center here, I asked about wine. He said absolutely to enjoy it and that I did not need to give it up. During treatments I really didn't miss it but now enjoy a glass or two again. I think I drink less than many friends and I'm the only one going through this! I too hope the arimidex helps keep my estrogen away but I'll also enjoy my wine too! Cheers!!!

My non-scientific take on this ... I had no major risk factors for getting breast cancer, but I did.  I enjoy a drink now and then, or two or three.  No one in the medical field or research can show me proof that a few drinks will change my risk for recurrence.  I intend to enjoy myself and live my life fully from here on out.  I work out 3 times a week, I eat lots of fruits and veggies, but I will not give up my wine/vodka/beer when I want it!  Quality of life is a major risk factor, so I intend to give myself a great quality of life :)

Love and hugs to all :)

I am having problems with deciding which Phytoestrogens not to eat.  They included brocoli on that list, soy, peanuts, cabbage, beans, grains...is there anything left.  Have any thoughts on this?

I can go months without a drink. BUT......I had 4 glasses last night during dinner!! Had a wonderful time with new friends and old.

BC has taken enough from me body ,mind and spirit. It is not going to take away some wine every now and then. All in moderation.....
