I thought this was interesting. I wonder why More Cancers are in the Upper Outer Quadrant.
Thats where mine was.
*I have added in Which Side your cancer was vs which is your Dominant hand...This might be interesting too - (Added June 2010- so pretty behind on count)
I will also add in this for those who post this Fact:
Cancer on Side You sleep on at a Higher %

Left breast, upper outer right hand quad.
-
Primarily in upper outer. I also had a secondary, smaller lesion @ 6:00. (Don't know what that would be considered???) I didn't read the article yet, but are there any stats on left vs. right? Mine was left. Deanna
-
Hi Deanna- It was just a chart of where BC occur - not an article.
When I was DX I researched sides. left is 55% & Right is 45% (If I recall)
I suppose we should keep track of that too!
just for fun.

Mine was in the lower inside quadrant (the 6 o'clock position) in my left breast.......My sister's was in her right breast in the upper quadrant.....
-
How interesting. And, left side...why?
Mine is left, inner upper.
-
Lower inner quadrant, right
-
OK. I am all over the place
One upper outer, One lower middle on right side
and one upper inner on left side....
-
Left brease, centered under areola but all the way to the muscle wall. On the original mamo they had to do it over several times because they couldn't get enough of me in the paddles to see all of the microcalcifications. Not real fun!! Getting that wire inserted before surgery meant one of the nursed had to get under the machine, reaching up to get me positioned. We were actually laughing at it all. (Not too hard, didn't want to move that wire!) They went in through the side of the breast with the wire, I think, then put paper cups over the wire so it wouldn't get bumped. Weird.
-
Dejaboo ~ That chart is fascinating! What struck me is that the incidence lessens as you move away from the underarm. That mid-range is fairly consistent, then the inner lower quadrant markedly less. Deanna
-
Another upper outer right side but the BS said it was almost right on the line between that and lower outer
-
I'm an upper outer left side.
-
left side, upper inner
-
Right breast, upper outer 10 o'clock and lower outer 8 o'clock (multi-focal).
I'm finding this quite interesting.
-
Right breast, upper inner 3:00 close to chest wall.
-
Left upper outer
-
Lower inner quadrant, left breast.
