Taxtol vs. Taxotere

I am 3 rounds down with 1 to go with my AC chemo. My onco originally said he wanted to put me on Taxol x12 rounds, then the nurse told me yesterday it will be Taxotere. I asked why the change, and she said that the dr said that there was not a lot of difference but she would check with him.

My question is: What is your experience with the differences with both Taxol and Taxotere? differences in SE and/or experiences while they are being given??

Thanks for any input! I have not had a lot of SE with my AC so am hoping whichever I go with will not cause too many SE.

I have had the experience with Taxotere...that one was hard on me...Taxol was a lot milder on me...as far as side effects everyone is different. I can tell you for me Taxotere I had it all....Taxol just had constipation but got that under control...Oh and extremely tired but that is also cause I did chemo with radiation.

Thank you for your input Elizabeth. I have been hearing that Taxotere is the tougher one as far as side effects. I think I am going to tell my dr I want Taxol...since he said there is not much diff...then he shouldn't have a problem with going with my wishes, eh?  LOL
