I know this may seem trivial - but I can't find any dresses that work with my new neckline and foobie!

It seems every one I try on is either too low, or doesn't lay right. Help! Has anyone else had these problems and found solutions (i.e., stores, dress designers, etc.) Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I hear you Kathy. I also find that no cocktail dresses have sleeves anymore.

I have found that  Inc has some nice sweater dresses that are very forgiving in the arm and neckline dept. And they are on sale at Bloomingdales and Macys. I bought two that got me through the holidays.

Thanks! We don't have a Bloomingdales or Macy's around here, but I'll check on line. And, what is it with no sleeves - doesn't anybody but me get cold anymore?!!!

Aren't all those little half-sweaters supposed to go with the sleeveless dresses?

I think to take a page from the Forever21 set and layer. If you have one of those cross-over dresses put a tank under it if the neckline is too low. Everywhere you go young girls have got three different tops on, follow their example.

I found that it's easier to do separates.  I'm concave on my mast side, and no foob really does the trick.  Nothing lies right.  The best is something with a high necklline.  For a dressy look, I found a lace top with a mock turtle neck at Express that works great with a cami underneath.  The cami covers enough, and the lace top sits better on my chest so it's not noticeable that I'm uneven.  Also, try a cami bra.  It's a bra with a lace insert between the cups that goes up high and helps keep your top from clinging to your chest.  Hope that made sense.  I also live in tee shirts, and have them in just about every color known to woman.  I find that they don't accentuate the concaveness and I don't have to worry about bending overEmbarassed.

Kathy, I know what you mean about the derth of dresses that work on our post-surgery bodies!  I had a helluva time finding an evening gown that worked.  Jackets and separates are the simplest solution.  Sweater dresses are great if you have the figure for them.  Nordstrom online has a big selection of dresses and separates.  They include return postage, so if you want to order more than you need to "try on" a couple, it's easy to do.  They're not cheap, but they often have nice stuff on sale.

Here's an example of the cami mastectomy bra.  It works well with scooped and v-necked sweaters and tops:  JJill also sells a cami (or they did at one point) that is higher cut than most.

    Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I so appreciate all the suggestions. And nosurrender, what you have on is just what I'm looking for! I guess I also need to start the layering - hadn't really thought about that. It's just so frustrating to have to spend so much time hunting clothes to try and look decent.

I like the idea of a cami bra, and didn't know that they had mastectomy cami bras. It is so helpful to be able to post on here and get the info from women who really know what you're talking about.

    Thanks again,

    Kathy

Gina- love that dress!!! You know I love INC too. Kathy, there's an entire thread called the FASHION thread--- I know it's like 40 pages long, but it's definitely a topic I think we covered.  You may want to post over there as well.
