I have been pretty edgy leading up to this - an all-clear was pretty important to me.

Used Lidocaine patches on boobs to numb things up - it worked pretty darned well - I read that this was recommended on this site, and I was pleased with the minimal pain (ok, discomfort).

My results were come back in 6 months (Birads 3) - they can't say for sure that everything is clear, but it doesn't seem likely that there is anything there. I still have a lot of scarring, so they want to recheck, but YAH! My rad onc, who schedules follow-ups, suggests an MRI, just so that we can make sure. I think that will make me feel safer.

I still don't get why my hospital practically trips themselves getting you back into the waiting area, where you wait and wait and wait... Could you tell they were running over an hour behind? I told them that it would just be good manners to tell us how late they were running - heck, they have really good coffee, I could have had a soda, almost anything rather than reading 4 old People's while shivering in an ugly johnny. Rant over.

98% of birads 3 are b9, according to my surgeon.  So this is god, they are just being cautious.  I have had a birads 3, 4 and 5 since bc -- all turned out to be b9.

    Great news, really!

I did a happy dance when mine came back with LCIS and ALH.  Precancer I can handle. Funny how cancer changes the old perspective.

They should at least offer up warm blankets.
