I'd like to start by saying that this post is all in fun.  I understand that you can avoid every risk factor in the world and still be attacked by this beast.  Please read (and enjoy, if you wish) this in the spirit in which it was intended.

Caveat in place, I will proceed...

Since being diagnosed on 11/26 I have been overwhelmed by the number of other women that I have heard of in my neighborhood, church, ballet moms, friends of friends, etc. who are going through this as well.  Most, if not all, of us are under 45.  It got me thinking...if there is a cause, what could it be?  What common denominator do we all have?

I have decided that, in the case of the women in my age group, it's Dippity Doo Hair Gel.  You remember that God awful sticky goo we put in our hair in the '80s?  We slathered it on to achieve hair the height of the Empire State Building.  And I, being a good and proper Jersey girl, worshipped at the altar of Dippity Doo.  Every day was a Dippity Doo day.  How could something the color and texture of evil not be harmful to us in the end?  Little did we know what we were risking as we teased and blew dry with dedication to having a hairdo that would stand still in a monsoon that could destroy a small island.  In my case, it took approximately 21 years for the Dippity Doo to migrate through my hair folicles through my body to my breast tissue, where it's making things as hard and stiff as ever!!!

So, what are your theories?  Any product, behavior from your generation that you blame it on?  I'd love to hear it!!! :)

One more caveat if you are anyone you know works for the Dippity Doo Hair Gel Corporation, please don't bother suing me.  After deductible and co-insurance I have no more money. ;)
