Anyone looking forward to the Movie as much as me?

I read the book a couple years ago & loved it.

All the Movie previews make me Laugh & smile.  I cant wait!

They just had one of the Main Marleys on GMA & it was very funny!

Deja even watched Marley on GMA- she loves watching dogs on TV.

Once when Going for a car ride.  She noticed another dog!  She inched closer to the Rear view Mirror & couldnt believe there was another cute dog just like her in the car with us!

It sure was exciting for her.  LOL

I read the book this during my 13 days without air and elec. during  IKE.- (and also taking rad treatments)  I love dogs (and most animals) but I thought this book would be juvenile and bore me. While reading Marley & me  my family would give me looks because I would be laughing or crying  hard and loud.  It is a great book.  It is more about unconditional love, lessons we learn from animals and people about life - not just a feel good move about a cut dog and the family. I am never the one to see a movie on opening day.  I can usually wait until it comes to video - but I may be in the theater on Dec. 25th to see this!  It may be one of my xmas present requests.   I can't wait either. We will have to follow up and keep a thread open about this book and movie and chat with others.

    Me too!

I almost didnt read the book because I thought the same thing & My Family too would watch me read it & LOL.

I tried to get all of them to read it- but none of them did.

I probably will get home to late to see it Xmas night.  But will try to go on the 26th .  because I do need/want  to see it before my Surgery.

Pam, Thanks for letting us know! I had not read the book, and thought the movie would be too silly from seeing the previews...but I love dogs, and love to laugh....so sounds like a winner! Awww...also sounds like you need to rent (or buy) the movie for Deja to see---wouldn't she love seeing that one. Looneymoon, glad you loved the book too...now I will have to try to see this. I think we all could use a good laugh after all the bc stuff we have gone through.Laughing

OHHHH, I cannot wait for Marley & Me to come out! I read the book as well when it first came out and I laughed and cried the entire time. Lovely story. I even get teary eyed when I watch the movie trailer!  Not too many movies these days that we actually want to go and see.

Cute story Pam - they certainly have personalities!

Here is my "Marley" - 4-year old choc. Lab and our dog that passed away in 04, another choc Lab - love them both.

Oh, you guys!!!   I love Marley & Me!  Read the book, looking forward to the movie.

Raye & Pam, how could you NOT love this story with your own babies??

Wahine, is that a Border collie??  I love Border Collies.  Grew up with one who was smarter than me.

My Foxy, who is chocolate, although not a lab (but some of his best friends are Labs!!) wanted equal time, so here he is with his pal, the glamorous Chloe the cat.

WINNIEGIRL.jpg Winnie girl picture by looneymom1960

Finally!  I got it.  I had added pic to other stuff like aim and chat but I guess it is all different.

I love the pic's you all  have put up, you pals are so cute!!

My girl Winnie is an angel Innocent. She sits like a dork too, we say it is very unlady like!

I had 2 full blood (other breeds) male dogs in the past that got aggressive and the last  dog bit a friend's 12 yr old girl in the face and had to have stitches, the health dept got in involved etc...I kept him at home and only my family could be around him, about a month later he  bit my 2 year old in the face. He had to be put down, I was devastated.

My vet told me to get a mix breed with lab female preferably the runt.  I found her 3 days after my other dog left us .  Her mom was a black lab (small size) and we figured out her dad had to be a Rhodesian she has the same face. She helped me with the grieving and the guilt .  She is the smartest, most faithful, good with children (but protective enough to scare strange men at the door)  best dog I have ever had.  She is gray in the face, has lumps and bumps that are fat tumers several places on her body, getting cataracts and arthritis.  She is the love of my life - along with my 2 boys age 14 and 20 and my hubby. She has been by my side through this BC He&% and treatments.  I am getting teary eyed just typing this, I usually do not go into detail like this but I know this a thread of extreme dog lovers. They teach us so much and add so much to our family's life.   This is probably the only public written dedication she will ever get, but she deserves it, I am not sure how much longer she will be here with me she is aging fast.    I did not intend to go on this long I just got a little emotional. (It could be my hormones)  Luv and hugs to you all.

Awe Holly.  Im teary eyed just reading it & Smiling too.  Because they are so wonderful & such great friends in our time of need. (and everyday!)

I do think we all understand on this thread.  There are those who love our fur kids a ton!

Winnie Looks very smart, And Sweet.

I agree most mixed breeds are great Family Pets.

I had a Springer who got aggressive.

She was kept away from Kids (mine included) & adults not in the family Her last few years.

    She lived to be 16.5!

Its hard when that happens.  I know.

On the otherside.  Me, my dh & Deja were attacked my a 100# Bit Pull mix 2 years ago while out walking.  It was the scarriest thing that has ever happend to me.  I have been bit by alot of dogs.  But an attack was terrifying.  He went after Deja & litterally threw her around & would not let go of her Hip.  My dh & I had to beat him off of our dog : (  And bring Deja to the ER.  I only got a small bite on my foot.

Im still scared to go for walks now- always watching for a dog to come at us.

Flat coats are known for their gentle disposition with humans & other animals.   Its why we picked the breed after my Springer. ; )

These pics are great. Really making my day! Dogs ROCK.

Pam - she is adorable. How scary about that dog attack. I sometimes worry about other dogs when walking riley around, we have several Pitts in our neighborhood who are very nice and as Cesar says, don't judge the dog by the breed, but...

My Lab always gets spider webs on his nose as well and has no clue that they are there. And he is smart, he really is.

Holly - Winnie is beautiful. Such a pretty face on her.

Just One - LOL - Now, that is a very familiar site. Good lookin Lab.

Here is a dorky (I hate to even say that-ha), let's say cute and silly picture of my Lab. I think I posted this before, may be a rerun.

Hello, I am stuck on the table and am not really concerned.

I am sorry the pic is so big - I can't get the photo smaller.

Raye99 That is so funny!   And he looks at you like why Am I stuck here?  its really not my fault.  I was just on the table....

I know I feel bad when I call Deja  a dork- but really she sometimes is!

I have another picture I will have to find.  Yours made me remember it.  Not sure I have it scanned though....

How cute - Raye its never their fault and with a face like that we always forgive them for most anything.

Pam - so weird I have a fear of dog fights too.  I do not fear dogs, even big ones.  Years ago a  (next door) friend's husbands big rotwieler  got my cat in  his jaws. I new this dog and would feed him when they were out, he was kind of negleted for attention so he really liked me.  I walked in his yard and made him release my cat - I don't know why I was not afraid. She died of internal injuries later.   Winnie and I have had some close calls like chased by big dogs that were loose.  (I did not know I could run so fast in my old age) If a big dog growels or gets to close when I walk her she get aggressive.  Then while I was dog sitting my bosses toy poodle (I am like her auntie) a large German Sheppard mix came out of a store at a shopping strip  ran straight at us and tried to kill the poodle, I was holding her above my head until the Sheppard owner came and got him. I shook for  hours after that. I think my fears come from all of those experiences.  I  watch the dog whisper,  others have this same fear and I need to work on it.  Because of this my Winnie does not get many walks unless my boys take her. We have great green belt trails where we live that go all the way to the lake but there are so many other dogs walking.  She must sense my fear and she growls at other dogs we we walk but does not do this when my husband or kids are with her!  Great chatting with fellow dog lovers. We need to meet up on this thread when some of us has seen the movie.  I have been on way to long today - gotta to my domestic goddess chores now.  Tongue out  Hugs to you and your best buddies.  Holly

These pictures are great...love seeing everyones best friends!

Dejaboo~ Oh yeah, he falls off all the time, runs in his sleep, ya know. lol  Although I have never actually seen it you bet I sure hear it. I don't say anything...he's too embarrassed.

He also likes to get into the toybox and carry around a 'light saber'. He's ready to do battle whenever, with whomever. He's a crazy dog, but he's so well worth the banged up walls and hair every where.  Aren't they all? Laughing

Oooooooh!  These photos are so great!  They are making my day.  And our wonderful furkids never mind that we get a kick out of them being so silly & goofy.

My Foxy is half Chow & half Siberian Husky.  Just took a picture of him with my phone as he just came in from the snow!  He's verrrrry happy about the snow.   And here's another photo of him at a salt pond by the beach, also being very happy with his great doggy grin because he was wet, smelly, sandy, got to ride in the car & got to play with his buddy, Petey, a lab/border collie mix.

As a Puppy.  Dh had gone outside to do something & she could not see him.

So she got on the Kitchen table,  Made herself comfortable & watched!

I had to snap a picture before I told her No!

my cocker does that when something yummy is on the table.  one christmas eve, we were getting the feast on the dining room table.  dd put a humongous antipasto which took creative ds 45 minutes to get just right, on the table.  i went to bring something else to the table and there is brandy on top of the dining room table scoffing all the italian meats and cheeses from the antipasto.  i went balastic but fortunately i overbought and ds was able to make another creation.  another time i left a homemade marble cheesecake on the table while walking guests out to their car.  came back in 10 min later and guess what, no cheesecake on table...all in brandy's tummy.  she'll be 13 on monday and i'm sure she could still jump on the table (she's not very tall) but i've learned my lesson long ago and don't leave anything within her hungry reach.

Kak- Whats with dogs & tables- Food!  Deja says "there might even be a crumb left- I better check!"

Jerseymaria- we call that Counter Cruising here.   Deja is an expert at it.  She has eaten 10 full size tomatoes in less then 1 minute...all that was left was a few seeds.  Cookies, Cakes, Loafs of bread-leaving the bag, Muffins.  Leave the kitchen for 1 second...We have learned over the years & she doesnt get the oportunely to steal mych anymore.  We even have a Child Latch on our garbage cupbard.

3 years ago we tried making Lefse for the 1st time.  It was alot of work!  We had it all cooling on the counter under a towel & Deja got all of it- Ever little piece!

So now when we are going to make it we say " we need to make Lefse for Deja"

Yogi- Great Picture & Smile!  Waiting for Mom to come back

Glad you are loving the thread Mary-Lou.  You can see I am too- LOL

You know, I guess I've forgotten what normal dogs behave like because Foxy was a stray who was so grateful to have a new home, he never misbehaves.  I mean, I can even leave the cats' food on the floor & he won't eat it!  However, the Border Collie I grew up with used to get up on the dining room table & scarf a whole box of donuts, etc.  Once, on Easter Sunday, we came home from church to find that the ham we were going to have for dinner had disappeared & our Border Collie was lying on the floor in a blissful stupor with the hambone by his feet.

One of my favorite opening scenes of the old TV show "Mad About You" was the two of them coming home from grocery shopping & finding their dog Murray standing on the middle of the dining table.  Not eating anything, not lying down, just standing there.   LOL

Yogi, now I have to try to find a photo of a Samoyed I had sitting behind the wheel of my car looking like she was about to shift into drive!!!!

Raye, that photo of your dog on the patio table just cracks me up so much!

Foxy & his first kitty pal, my old cat Velcro.  I think Velcro probably told Foxy when he first moved in that he'd kick Foxy's butt if he tried to eat the kitty food, so Velcro trained him not to forage!  Velcro had learned how to deal with dogs from my neighbor's German Shepherd, who met him when she was a puppy & learned to be nice to kitties that way.
