hi,

i'm a 26 year old lesbian and my mother is dying of cancer.  i saw this section for lesbians with breast cancer but haven't found a section for lesbian daughters of parents.  if there isn't one i think it's an important one to start.  i have so many issues surrounding my relationship with my mother and how my sexual orientation has affected our relationship which has complicated my coping with her diagnosis so much because of our history. can anyone suggest places to go for help or if there is something on this site?

I'll bet many of us can relate to parts of your story, even if we haven't had the exact same experiences. I can only imagine how that does complicate things for you.  Is she ok with your orientation now?

My mom died of breast cancer in '85 and she was not OK with me, but less so with my sister.  I got to go to her funeral.Frown

My "mother-in-law" also died of this disease a few years ago and I was blessed to be an active part of her treatment and part of her passing with my partner and her family.Smile

You are here, and so are we here for you.
