reconstruction with a medical port still in????

Hi,wondering has anyone had reconstruction with a medical port still in?  I go the 29th for ,my consult for implants after radiation,,and still have this port in. I am curious if they can even do anything with the port still in there.  The cancer was on the opposite side, so radiation will not affect that side.....HELP
