HELP- Upstate NY docs? How about Roswell Park?

Hi.  I am 39 yrs. old and recently diagnosed with IDC.  I posted a thread in the IDC discussion board and someone suggested that I post my question here.

Basically, I am trying to get a feel for the surgeons in upstate NY (Buffalo area) and also want to know if anyone has treated at Roswell Park.  I am interested in knowing how other people's experiences have been...

I have family near NYC and am considering making the trip to Sloan-Kettering (which I have been told is one of the best cancer hospitals), but I don't want to put myself (or my family) through that if we can get the same type of care closer to home.

Also- what's the deal with hospital rankings (like US News and World Report or Castle Connelly List)?  Does anyone pay any attention to those?  Do they mean anything?

Raising up this topic. Has anybody on the list used Roswell? I have a consult with a breast surgeon at Roswell on Monday.
