Oncotype score over 50?
Anyone else had a score over 50? What treatment did you do? Onc is recommending AC+T because on my high score, but says that 6 rounds of TC would be a valid treatment as well. I'm so scared of any treatment involving A so I'm so confused right now. He had first recommend 4x TC until he found out my oncotype score. Also, oncotype is only for ER+ tumor, mine was a weak positive, 10%, is the oncotype still a valid test on such a weak tumor?

Hi Cebula...my oncotype dx score was 57! I had 2 rounds of chemo (adramycin/cytoxin- 4 x) and then Taxol (12 x) & Herceptin...I did Herceptin for 1 year. I was 42 when diagnosed. her2neu positive also.
I was told anyone that scored over 30 was considered high risk and needed to do the chemo. I am taking tamoxifin now. I do not know the answer to your question concerning the "weak tumor."
Initially, I debated doing chemo, because I was only stage 1, it was not in my lymph nodes and it was caught early...but then once I got the onco results back, I knew I had to have chemo.
Please take care...I know it is so hard and it seems like such a long road, but you will get thru it.

Thank you, my score is 57 as well. Met with onc this morning and we decided to do 6 rounds of TC, I'll be starting on Dec 8.

I realize your post is almost ten years old, but I just received my oncotype score of 57 yesterday - Nov. 16, 2017. I have IDC, er positive, pr positive, 0/1 node. I am Stage 2/A, Grade 3. I had a lumpectomy Oct. 9 and reincision to get clear margins on October 29th. The oncologist is recommending chemo. I am petrified with the high oncotype score. She doesn't know what kind of chemo. How are you doing today? Also, my bone and cat scans were clear

Hi Camille: Received my score of 52 yesterday. Was clinically ready to start hormone treatment until received score and now Oncologists 1 and 2 both strongly recommending chemo (T+C; 4 rounds). I'm really bummed....

I have done two cycles of CT chemo; it isn't bad so far! I have my third treatment January 24th and finish on Feb. 14th. Then, I have 20 radiation treatments and AL's

You’re half way done with chemo Camille! Here’s hoping the rest of your treatments continue to go as well! I’ve just started my own. Best of luck!

I just hope the chemo is strong enough to "knock out" the cancer

Anyone else out there with oncotype scores over 50.?

My score was 54. Surgeon initially said after lumpectomy I’d do radiation then a pill for 5 years and be done with it. Once score came in we went to chemo, I finished 4 AC treatments and am at 3 of 12 paclitaxel treatments. Then a respite before radiation. Trying to reassure myself that it’s just a summer of inconvenience and then I can get back to my usual workaholic life…

Hello Gonetruckin,
May I ask how many radiation treatments are planned for you? I finished 4 x AC treatments, and the first of 12 weekly taxol. The plan is hopefully a lumpectomy, radiation then hormone treatment.
I guess you can see the goal in sight now!

4 weeks of radiation planned, every weekday. Not sure what to expect. Doctors say it’s a breeze, nurses warn me it could kick my butt.

My score was 51, I did 4AC and 12 taxol, it was doable, no major side effects, 20 rads, one bad burn which has now healed, my hair is coming back, grey as a badger but I'm well which is all that matters. I'm on Anastrozole and my fear ebbs and flows bit I have to get on with it. I'm 57.best of luck to you.
