Ongoing symptoms, hormonal?
Hello Ladies
I've had an array of symptoms now for almost three weeks. Started with a rash on left breast. With that was intense burning in the top of the breast. Pain in armpit and outer edge of breast below armpit. The rash stablized but the burning and under arm pain became much worse. Then mid last week I started with severe pain in a small area above the nipple. Made appointment wtih surgeon. Two days before the appt., the area that was causing me so much pain "pinked up", like broken little blood vessels. So I saw the surgeon yesterday. She did a breast exam...no lumps. She ordered mammo with ultra sound. Had those today and thankfully everything looks normal. Now, the surgeon did tell me that when I go to see her next week for follow up that if the rash is still there she will do a core biopsy. So since nothing showed on the imaging, could this possibly all just be hormonal. I'm 44. I've never had issues like this with either of my breasts. Where is the pain coming from when I have no lumps? I'm hopeful that this will resolve on it's own. Has anyone gone through hormonal changes like this? Anyone? :)Thanks for any thoughts or advise.
Here's wishing all of you a safe and wonderful holiday season. Yes ladies, it's "that time".

Hello Tersa,
I'm sorry you have this worry.
Hormones can do funny things! As nothing has shown up on the U/S have they ruled out an infection or suggested antibiotics while you wait for your core biopsy?
Best Wishes

Hey Jessica
No, the surgeon didn't mention or suggest anything of an infection. I'm relieved that the imaging looks normal but thought they might see something that is causing my burning and pain. My surgeon will do the biopsy on the rash next wednesday. Is it silly for me to ask for a biopsy at the site of the pain?? I just want to be absolutely sure this isn't cancer. I know this surgeon is great so I have to trust her, but in my gut....I'm worried.
Thanks for listening.

Hi Teresa,
I am happy that your docs are taking this seriously and not just sending you home saying the mammo is fine and there is nothing seriously wrong. Of course the chance that it is bc is slim I am sure. But I know that you will be able to breathe much easier knowing for sure what it is you are dealing with.
Hugs and Prayers,
Lexi
