Had my Pre op today.
I wish my Drs nurse was more on the ball. When I talked to her about 2 weeks ago (I had discussed starting Ticlid with my Cardio on Nov 10th) so that we could make sure I could tolerate it before surgery. Since I am to be on it for about 6 months
Anyway after reading about Ticlid I decided Id rather retry Plavix. (6 months ago right after my BLM when I was on it for 1 month I had Severe SE from it) I am hoping this time I wont.
At todays Pre op I asked if I could get my perscription for Plavix filled now- so I wouldnt have to pick it up after my Surgery.
The NP said I was already supposed to be on it. Hmmm Well who told me that? Not his nurse when I was on the phone with her. Did she think I could just read the Drs mind & go to the drugstore & buy some Plavix? So I start it tomorrow 12 days before my Surgery. I so hope I dont have severe SE from it. Or I will have to try another drug & it will end up delaying my surgery. grrr....Which will delay my masdestruction Fix.
She also said I may end up being on Aspirin all my life (this from the NP not my Dr- But I can see him saying that) My new PS does not want me on aspirin for surgery. Well He may have to just chage that thought.
And how will I ever get my Ribbon/Heart tattoo if I am on Aspirin!

I took my 1st Plavix about 1 hr ago. I can feel it going through my body- Really. I feel kind of different. Almost high but not really. Just a drugged feeling kind of...All the way through my arms & legs. Even feels funny to type.
And I have Nausea : (
I am so worried I will get Serious SE from it. I hope that I dont.
Im sure if I told the Dr I could feel the Plavix theyd send me to a looney bin.
Just like my Shortness of Breath is ignored or in my head.Pam

I'm keeping strong prayers going for you that the SE's don't show up. Thinking of you and hoping everything works out good ~

Thanks Amy!
I know some women try Tamox & have terrible SE. Stop. Try again & dont have Bad SE.
So I am hoping the Plavix will be ok this time.

For those of you who were keeping an eye on my progress. I thought I would update you.
I had my Heart Surgery on Dec 29th- 10 days ago. it went very good. I did have more pain then expected in recovery. But it was ok.
The 1st night I went to sleep- I did not have a Brick on my Chest- I could breath!
My leg is still sore.
I have about 40 bruises on my Body from Plavix/Aspirin. But This time around I have no Sereve SE from Plavix!
Well the heavy periods that last 2-3 weeks still. But not the Stuff that made dh want to bring me to the ER like last time.
I feel Fantastic today!
I have worked out 3 times this week- Only 10 minutes of Very mild Cardio. (hard to do more when you cant breath) Today I had shortness of breath -But it felt totally different- it was because I was short of breath from working out! I even was able to increase my level on the stairs from 1 to 3!!!! I have not been able to do above a 1 level for almost 2 years.
I still have shortness of breath during most exertion- Like going up stairs or talking & walking at the same time...But this is a Great start!
Im not exhausted after my 10 minute workout.
I feel Like a real Human should. To think I have had so much fatigue & shortness of breath for 10 years!! And Drs told me it was Anxiety. And Ignored me. Grrr to all of them!
I even cleaned a little yesterday!

Pam, you sound great. I'm really happy you came through the surgery okay. You go, girl!

Well,
That great day of energy only lasted 36 hrs.
I sure hope it comes back soon & stays!
I had my 1 month post op check today. At 3 days post op all my fingers on my right hand went completely numb for 5 minutes. Hes not sure what that was...Could have been another TIA.
I have had constant heart burn for 2.5 weeks. Its very bad. I never had heartburn before.
He said I can take prilosec...Although this weekend when I looked up Plavix & heartburn it said- No Prilosec & no Nexium...As it makes the plavix not work. He said studies have shown it does not effect it.
I also have had a Racing heart with skipped heart beats for about a week. it could be PACs...or Afibs. So I will wear a Heart Halter for 24 hrs to see.
Could they put that on me today when I was there? No. Was to late in the day. So I have to go back tomoroow. I dont drive so that means more time off for dh & then I have to go back Wed to have it taken off. Grrr (lets hope its just PACS)
I dont get my Bubble Echo for 3 more months ( I was hoping to have it in 2)...although I couldnt go at the end of April...So she made an appt for me for Mid April...The sooner I have this Echo the sooner I know if my Hole is sealed & I can get off plavix...And on to my boob redo surgery...Although I have DDs graduation party in June sometime...And will have to clean & get ready for that in May...So really I couldnt have my surgery until after June anyway...Even if I am lucky enough to be off plavix at the 4 month mark.
Thats my heart news.

time for a rant.
And why do I need to get off of Plavix? ...Since my Male Cardio does not GET IT!
I just got my Dot- 9 days early. its only been 1 week since it ended...it lasts 10 to 16 days & is very heavy- so bad that there are days I cant leave the house.
I cant live like this for 6 months.
I did this for 7 years before I had an Ablation 4 years ago. : (

Pam, now that I've seen a photo of you & your girls, I just cannot believe that you have had to go through all this. You are too young to have to deal with all this crap. You just rant on anytime you want, girlfriend!
-
Awww Pam -
Sorry to hear that you're having more issues. I wish, wish, wish that things would finally just work out for you. You have been through so much dear
I saw your pic too - what a gorgeous set of gals you are! Seriously - you look very much like sisters! Wow!

Pam, just saw your posts.
What a do you are having, I do hope things will settle down for you soon. Its awful when we live breathe and sleep health issues, makes us wonder 'why me', and wonder what life was like before all this cr*p took over our lives. It seems like years and years since I was carefree, and not constantly bothering over every ache and pain.
Let's hope you can get clear of all this in time for DDs party. Is a hysterectomy not on the cards, I sure woulod be asking about one by now !!
Isabella.

Thanks Ladies,
I guess things could be much worse. So I should keep that in mind when all this gets to me.
I have thought of a Hysterectomy...2 months ago I thought for sure...Then I had one normal Dot...So I thought. Ok- Ill save myself & bones from that for now...I am probably at least 5 years from perimenoupause. I dont want to rush it if I can avoid it.
I thought about another Uterine Ablation...Not sure how succesful a 2nd one is. At the time of my 1st one 4 years ago- It wasnt very common to have a 2nd one...So will have to research that now.
For one thing I cant have any surgery until I am off plavix (which is the main cause of these heavy Dots- I hope) They restarted in June when I went on Plavix & then Aspirin.
I have thought maybe Zolodex might help. The SE of that scare me a little. And by the time the shot kicks in to stop my bleeding...Well what if I am off plavix by then anyway.
I just canceled my Halter Monitor Appt for today.
Was hard to decide what to do.
But I was having Palpitations every day for the last 7 days- A racing heart 3-8 times a day - lasting even hours sometimes.
I have not had one for 24 hrs...So why Monitor me for the next 24 hrs if maybe they have stopped...
Was that a smart thing to do? I had no internet all morning- so had no one to ask...Cardios Nurse takes days to get back to me- So she would not have been any help!

Huh,
Guess what. It wasnt my period. This bright red bleeding - Heavy- clots started right after I had sex. I assumed it was my period
It stopped 24 hrs later.
Kind of scary. Although I really think it is because of the plavix. never happened before though.
So what to do? Not have sex again- LOL
I have my Annual Pap appt in 1 month. Should I just wait until then?
When searching this am...I found a thing called her option- Cyroablation.
I hat a (heat) Uterine ablation 4 years ago...At the hospital, Knocked out for it.
This Freezing one is done in the office. Not sure if it can be done after a Heat Ablation...But maybe its something that I can have done now...Im not supposed to have surgery while on plavix...Maybe this would be different then surgery....
Any Ideas?

Jeez, Pam, that kind of bleeding is just not right. I agree with you -- sounds like the Plavix. I wouldn't wait to get this checked out. If a blood clot goes in the wrong direction, you might not be around to complain about it anymore.......!!
