Triple Neg here too
I was diagnosed in aug of 07 with invasive ductal carcinoma, ended up having 10 out of 11 positive lymph nodes so had a double masectomy with no reconstruction.. I started chemo in nov of 07 and got done in feb 08 then done radiation for 6 and a half weeks.. Then in July of this year, I had some rash looking spots come up on my chest and turned out to be cancer cells in the skin so I started the chemo pill zeloda but after a few months on that, no change in skin so now im on a second round of chemo.. Oh and im 32 yrs old.. I couldnt believe when the dr told me I was triple neg, I was like what else? Im getting through it though, I have to, I have two little ones that need me so im fighting for all its worth, with God on my side, nothing is impossible!

While I don't have triple negative cancer, I want to express a warm welcome in a difficult situation. You have shouldered a lot already, and I'm struck by your determination and strength. Those little ones have one loving momma.Hoping you'll share your journey, turn here with your news, and allow yourself to benefit from the great support of the ladies and men who simultaneously walk the breast cancer path with you.My best to you,Tender

It is so wrong that you have to go through this at your age. Hope you can find the strength and support that I have found here from this incredible sisterhood that none of us wants to belong to. You might want to poke around in some of the other topics that are a little bit more popular until you find the right group to support you - then we follow each other everywhere.
Hugs and prayers

Hey BL's Mom,
Keep fighting! You will find a good therapy that will beat back those cancer cells.
There are lots of new breakthroughs happening all the time with TN disease. There is lots of HOPE.
Big hugs,

BL's Mom,
I am so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. Keep fighting like you've been girl! And yes, WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! Your babies need you!
I am triple negative too. I had a rash before I found out I had breast cancer. It started mild under my arms for a couple of months(thought it was resistant eczema) and then In Dec it went full blown all over my body. I was seeing a dermatologist for months trying this cream and that pill with no success. My biopsies were all benign. Then in April I found my lump and the journey began. My breast surgeon believes it was paraneoplastic syndrome ( a dermatologic response of my body to the cancer). I told my husband I was allergic to cancer. LOL! Im allergic to everything else he says. LOL. It was strange after my 2nd lumpectomy and tumor removal with clear margins my awful rash went away. My skin cleared up beautifully. They were even on my scalp. I am concerned now though because I am through chemo and ready to have bilateral mastectomies with DIEP flap reconstruction on Thurs Nov. 13th and the rash has returned. Just in one spot on the crease of my arm. What if my cancer is back? My onco doesn't believe in tumor markers or checking anything but my CBC. And says I won't have a post tx PET scan or anything. She will just pay attention to any symptoms. How did you find out the cancer cells were in your skin? Your onco or a dermatologist? Just scared somebody missed something with me and curious as to how you got final answer. What kind of test, etc? Any help would be appreciated. I haven't found anyone with this paraneoplastic syndrome like I had. Thanks, Treesie

The test is a punch biopsy of the skin. They numb a some area and use this tool with very little pain. They normally test a couple of areas. The key to this should it be inflammatory breast cancer is some of the other systems. Itchy, pain or warm to the touch. I would contact your surgeon about this test. If they will not respond to your concerns, go to your oncologist.
This not doing test thing concerns me...They should be doing a PET or Cat Scan on you after six months from you treatment and again at one year. I would push for these if I were you.
If you have concerns remember...GIRL Power! You have gone through so much don't let these doctor's push you off. Get someone to do something that will give you piece of mind.
