My mother saw the oncologist today and was informed that she would be having 4 dose dense treatments of AC every two weeks, and then 12 treatments of Taxol weekly. She had a 1.5 cm tumor. Had a lumpectomy, they found traces of DCIS so they did a re-excision with wide clear margins. From what I have read, many women have this chemotherapy treatment. I'm wondering what I should expect in regards to how she may feel and what I could do/say to help.

I must admit I am angry that this happened to my mother. She is an extraordinary woman and I hate seeing her sad and depressed. I wish I could always be in positive mood when I am around her, but it is not possible.

I just wanted to reiterate that reading about everyone's experience has really helped. Thank you thank you thank you.

I know that my daughter was my rock during my treatment, and she wasn't always upbeat, she cursed and she cried, which somehow made me feel better, because I guess it gave me permission to do the same in front of her. She also researched and told me I would be okay, but I know she was  (still is at times) scared. Just love her up the best ways you know how and don't forget to make her laugh! I did not have chemo so I will let someone else give you advise on what to expect.
