This is my story. I went to vote early this morning and upon registering was told my name had been removed from teh Voter Registration book????  My husbands name was there but my name was missing.  Many apologies but I was not allowed to vote and had to fill in a Provisional Vote Ballot.  My vote would still not be recorded until I had contacted the County Clerk Voter Registration office to fax or in person provide my ID.  This really bothered my because at 9:30AM I was told I was now the 4th person whose name was missing from the Registration book for my district.

So I decided to go in person to the County Clerk Office and make sure nothing got lost regarding my ballot.  Upon arrival and giving them my Drivers license I was taken into a side office and informed that I was removed from the Voter Book because I was DECEASED!!!???!!!

Can you even begin to imagine my horrow and shock?!  Anyway I was indeed alive and the office apologized and updated my status to active.  I filed a complaint with local TV news channel who was tracking all the voter having problems at the polls.  The News station came to my house to record my story.  No idea how my voter status was changed but I was warned to look into with ohter agencies like SS to see if I was also terminated.

Well for what it was worth when asked what my voting priorities were I stated obviously the economy but also healthcare regarding insurance concerns and MORE funding for cancer research.  I sited examples of two women I personally met at cancer support group meetings who lost their jobs and health insurance immediately after their treatments.  This is legal for an employer to use different excuse to lay off an employee (Other than cancer).  I made it clear this is happening and now these people are jobless without insurance and have a pre-existing medical condition.  Try going on a job interview without looking ill and having no hair.  Maybe you can get away wearing a wig but how well can a person hide missing eye lashes and eye brows and possibley missing finger nails?  Hopefully I got their attention.

That's weird! My husband and I went to vote this afternoon and the same thing happened to me. Well, not the "deceased" part, but I wasn't in the book and had to do the provisional ballot thing. I've voted in the same place since I moved here 19 years ago and never had a problem before. We live in a small, rural community and there were only about 20 people there to vote when we went. THREE other people found their names missing from the books and had to do the provisional ballot thing too!

I was given a PIN number that matched the one on the ballot envelope and was told to call later this week to make sure my vote was counted. I'm wondering if I'd have any recourse if it wasn't. I'm also wondering just how many people had this problem today!

Makes me really doubt the reliability of these processes. Wonder how many dead people registered and voted....
