Whoever gets elected, my finances are still going to look sort of grim so I'd be happy to hear any ideas others have about low-cost Christmas gifts. I hate the early Christmas hype but low cost always takes more time so I'd best get started now. I can manage stuff for friends and neighbors with baked goods (not that inexpensive anymore) and herbal vinegars.

My problem is my three 20 something sons, they are not likely to get excited about herbal vinegars.

I maybe could knit or crochet something if my numb fingers would let me, but I need some ideas and maybe others do too.

Well, are your sons into any particular sports team.  A knitted cap/scarf in their team colors?  If they have a much-loved pet, something special for the pet like a sweater?

Something that I have made for my son in the past is a lap blanket to throw over the back of his favorite chair.  I don't knit but I do sew so I made the blanket out of fleece with his favorite colors.

You can buy fleece in just about any  team logo or color..buy the amt. of yardage required for a throw in the proper size...buy 2 yardages for front and back. sew 2 seams on either side and make ties on the opposite ( narrower end) by cutting slits the depth you want the ties..take one side from each fabric and make a square knot.... continue across the fabric....You are done !!!

Can't get much easier !   Letha

I clicked on this because I just bought $.59 cake mixes at the store, thinking Rum Cakes for the neighbors!!!

I see you're in Canada, so would boys enjoy chunky-knit sweaters in a sturdy yarn that goes in the washer? Perhaps same style, but different colors?

MY fingers are so stiff from Arimidex, but I'd love to do a poncho for granddaughter, age 4~~~just as I did for her mother.............

    TGIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thank God, it's OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more emails from my brother and others trying to convince me to vote one way or the other!

I haven't been reading the political threads here, just too much with all the other political things comming at a person.

I plan to read more books now that I won't have such a full email box.!!!
