What will you do with your extra time?
In just a few more days we will have elected a new president, and one of the primary topics of conversation will fade away. For those of us somewhat "obsesssed" with the respective political threads here, we will now have time to do things other than check the board every few minutes to see who said what.
Will it be a cold-turkey intervention? Will it be a gradual segue back into life?
What will you do with those extra hours on your hands, hours that were once devoted to scouring the blogs, your favorite source of unbiased info (tongue in cheek, here. NYTimes, for me!), and political postings on bc.org?
Me? I think I'll read more fiction, and try to make more jewelry. I've sadly neglected those two hobbies over the past few months.
Wow, it feels like a New Years resolution!

Anne: This is funny. I just mentioned elsewhere that my DH told me last night I won't know what to do with myself once the elections are over as I spend hours watching the news and reading. I'm thinking that with the economy the way it is, the Holidays will be harder financially. So I decided I would make hats and scarves for all my family members. Since there are 25 of them - that should keep me busy lol.

I plan to finish a couple of quilts, try out a few new recipes I've collected, babysit my granddaughter an extra day a week, and get out and walk more! I also have some writing to edit and organize, plus working on several projects for the Lymphedema Support Group I attend.
Looks like I've got my plate full, and then some! All things I enjoy doing.
Madalyn--housework? I decided that 100years from now no one will care or talk about my clean house!! LOL
Thanks Anne, for starting this thread. I look forward to reading what other activities people will do instead of constantly checking the political threads like I seem to do!!

There's always discussing Obama's cabinet and plans for inaguration parties....Ladysuz and I are planning to go to the inaguration, so anyone else who supports Obama and wants to go....

Well, two days later, and I may not be reading the boards here quite as much, but I'm still hitting hard at the NYTimes and Washington Post, as well as other blogs.
But, I am reading more again (MERLE'S DOOR--a beautiful book for any dog lovers out there!) and have actually made a couple pieces of jewelry.
I wsa about to say that life is getting back to normal, but I think after this election cycle, there is a NEW normal for me.
