Radiation on Saline Implants?

Has anybody had radiation on a saline implant? I have completed my reconstruction with tatoos. Was off of chemo only five months and found a new lump in chest wall. Lump has been removed, it did not spread and was in same breast as first time. Now I have to do radiation for the first time, and chemo again but different kinds. I will most likely be on Carboplatin and Gemzar. Any feedback on the side effects of those two? Will I lose my hair again? I'm concerned about my implant hardening.

    Hi,

Yes, I had radiation on my implant this past year and finished last December. It hasn't hardened but the implant has definitely shrunk with the radiation since I finished it. I have not as yet gone to see a plastic surgeon but have considered having a breast lift on my natural side. I am a bit lopsided which I guess happens whether you have had a mastectomy or not with radiation. Some people might not notice the difference and I guess it hasn't bothered me enough to do anything yet! I am rather tired of doctors as you can well understand. It had been three years since my mastectomy so I don't know if time is a factor. You might want to ask the doctor. All in all I was happy with the outcome.
