Nicotine Patch and Neuropathy

One our lucky lady's husband contacted me this week about my neuropathy.  He said they may be starting a trial using a nicotine patch to help stop the neuropathy.  I did some research and find it for diabetic neuropathy and one or two small article about chemo neuropathy.  Any one else read or heard about this? I will ask my doctor next week when I see him.
