What to expect

Options

Hi,

I am to see the oncologist this Thursday and was wondering what to expect. I had a bilateral mastectomy 9/29 for recurrance of BC. Stage 2 this time with 2/32 nodes positive. ER pos/PR pos, HER2NEU 1. My surgeon told  me to expect chemo. I am kind of in the dark here. Will they come up with a plan for me that day or will I make numerous trips before a decision is made? I guess I am just scared, nervous, anxious, etc. I just want some normal back in my life.

They had my treatment plan in place at my first visit, and I think i started chemo a few days later.  Good luck, you'll be fine :)

yes, I too learned what my treatment would be the first day I went in, and I started chemo soon after.  The fact that it's been a few weeks since your surgery is good, you shouldn't have to wait long to start.  Good luck.

It's normal to be nervous.  They will review the chemo plan with you before you begin.  Keep positive and return to this site for help.  I wish you the best.
