I just learned that my oldest sister has breast cancer.  I am scared, and don't know what to do.  I keep telling myself she is going to be ok.  We just found out about a week ago so this is all very new.

    wyrw,

So sorry about your sister, and yes I'm sure you are very scared. Let me give you a perspective from the other side. One of the hardest things I had to do ( other than tell my daughters and mother) was telling my sister (she had just lost her dh to stomach cancer 3yrs earlier) . But after the initial shock she was with me every step of the way. She gave me lots of hugs and kisses and held my hand and talked to me. In short she was there for me. Just knowing that really helped. Be there for your sister and help her through her journey. She will be ok Smile

Sending you and your sister lots of hugs

wyrw, Sorry to hear about your sister, believe you are not alone.                                                                                                                                                      my sister was diagnosed in July and yes it is scary she is 43, she was diagnosed three days after her birthday, some present huh. She had a modified masectomy, and is now enduring chemo, she seems to be doing okay except she just lost her hair and that has been tough. There are so many options now and they can do so much now, Never give up hope, God is in control. My sister said that God would only put on her as much as she could stand, but she said she sure wished He didn't trust her so much. A sense of humor helps too. Just be there for her, cry with her, listen and just love her . Many prayers go out to you r sister. Best of everything.
