black strap mollasses

Options

i've heard that blackstrap mollasses is good for building up your iron levels and platelets.

has anybody heard anything detrimental or to the contrary.

you need to be so careful with what you are taking,

I was juicing beetroot which is good for blood pressure, bones, cancer, etc..  but was told that because my platelets are low I shouldn't be having beetroot. it stops the platelets from sticking together, which you don't want to happen when your platelets are low, .

I heard this also.  Another good one is Grade B maple syrup, organic of course, and has to be Grade B not A, which can only be found in natural food stores.  Tons of vitamins and minerals in this stuff.  Check out below recipe for a "detox" drink, or a great pick-me-up.  I made this by the pitcher after my first chemo treatment, and I'm telling you it really does help with the energy levels!

2 tablespoons FRESH squeezed lemon or lime juice (approx. 1/2 lemon)
2 tablespoons genuine organic maple syrup, Grade B (the darker the better)*
1/10 teaspoon (a small pinch!) cayenne pepper, gradually increase (the more BTUs the better)
    300 - 500 ccm (10-14 oz) pure water

If you try it, let me know how it makes you feel!

When going through chemo, my potassium levels really dropped.  My Onc told me that I should try and increase my dietary intake, or they would have to put me on meds.  I did some research to find foods high in potassium and found that blackstrap molassas was very high in potassium.  I took a tablespoon of blackstrap molassas every day.  The next blood work showed my potassium was back within normal limits.  I believe blacksrap molassas is also high in iron (as well as many other minerals) so it would help if you have iron deficiency anemia.  Some people consider it a 'superfood' because of the concentration of minerals in it.  (Plus it tastes yummy!) I would think so, they are both sweet, try it and let me know.

Another thing you can add, but might need to acquire a taste for, is Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar.  Braggs is the brand to get.  Recipe below. It is supposed to give balance to your system.  If you try it use a straw and gulp down, the acid in the vinegar can harm the enamel on your teeth, so this is the best way to drink it.  You can do a search on this product too and you'll find some very interesting things about it!  When allergy season hits I drink this twice a day and it helps better than any prescription allergy medicine out there!

    Bragg Vinegar Health Drink

1 to 2 tsps. Bragg Organic Vinegar in 8 oz. Glass Purified Water and (optional) 1 to 2 tsps. Organic Honey, 100 % Maple Syrup, Blackstrap Molasses.

Bragg Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar is made from the finest, delicious, healthy, organically grown apples. Raw Apple Cider Vinegar is full of zesty natural goodness and contains the amazing 'mother' of vinegar which occurs naturally as connected strand-like chains of protein enzyme molecules and is highly regarded throughout history. Many medical studies show the health benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar. In 400 B.C. Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, used it for its amazing natural cleansing, healing and energizing health qualities.
