Skin Abrasion?

I have 2 spots on the bottom of my left breast which I noticed a while ago and just thought perhaps it was just a skin irritation of some sort.  I actually forgot about them as there is no pain and they don't itch or anything but there is a family history of breast cancer with my mom being diagnosed when she was 50.  She is now 65.  I am 41.  I have an appointment with my GYN next week but I am thinking perhaps a dermatologist would be best since the issue is on the skin at least in appearance.  There are no lumps in that area and just had an diagnostic mammogram a couple of months ago.  During my last GYN exam I was seen by a physician filling in for my regular doctor and she ordered the diagnostic and ultra sound based on what she felt but all was negative.  I did not go back to my GYN based on the negative results.  Perhaps I should go back to my GYN and the dermatologist?  Now, I am really starting to second guess myself.   I guess my question is, is there a best doctor to go to?

I would start with the dermatologist he/she can do a skin biopsy in the office.

    Good Luck

I'd agree w/ Laura greenthumbs. A dermatologist may be able to tell by looking if not by doing a biopsy to see what's happening. I am sorry that you have to worry about this. Hoping it's nothing serious.

Well, I don't have a regular dermatologist and it will be January before I can get an appointment so I am going to my gyn tomorrow and let her have a look.  I have been putting some cortizone on the two areas.  They don't seem as rough as before so perhaps it is just eczema or something but better to be proactive with this stuff.  Besides I should probably follow up from my diagnostic mammo where I also had an ultrasound.  My regular gyn was out of the country and she had another gyn fill in for her and she felt a lump and said there seemed to be some thickening but the mammo and ultrasound came back negative.  The lump has been there for some time though almost want to say since I have been getting mammos so I think it is nothing.  I have been getting mammo's for like the last 10 years so I definitely have an established baseline and my report said all is well, no thickening detected.

Well, it was much to do about nothing.  My gyn said they were moles.  I was a little embarrassed but better I do feel better.  Thanks for the support ladies.
