NEED HELP selling bikini CALENDARS.100% proceeds go 2 BCRF
Hi everyone! My name is Samantha and I'm a Tri Delt at Florida State. This past summer I was chosen to model in a calendar in which 100% of the proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Research! I was flown out to the Turks & Caicos islands for a week where we shot for the calendar. Now, I have to do my part by selling them! I am responsible for selling 300 copies, but am finding that this is a little more difficult to do than I originally thought it would be... so, I figured this would be a good place to seek support. I would appreciate it SO much if anyone could help in anyway! Here is some info on the calendar.
-It's put together by Campus Girls USA. You can visit the website and check out the pictures and see what the calendar is all about at http://www.campusgirlsUSA.com
-Campus Girls USA has pledged a MINIMUM of $20,000 to the BCRF.
-Set against the beautiful islands of: St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. And Harbour Island, Bahamas.
-Calendar is made up of college girls all working together to raise money for a great cause.
-The calendar is 16 Months (September '08 - December '09) with 12 x 12 format.
-Includes a 24 x 36 two-sided poster. One side of the poster is the football schedule of the conference in which you purchase and the other is a March Madness Tournament bracket.
-They make great stocking stuffers for Christmas!
-Calendars are $15.
Thanks you guys for taking the time to read all of this and supporting such an amazing cause!

No offense but I think these calendars would sell better to a male audience IMO maybe. Too many ladies here have gone through hell and some several times with surgeries, chemo and side effects. If you read these forums you will see some have had husbands leave for various reasons because they couldn't deal with the vow for in sickness and in health. I'm sure the pictures are beautiful but I think maybe the folks here are the wrong customers. Again just my opinion although we appreciate the awareness because young women get breast cancer too.

I am sorry Samantha, but I have to agree withcp418. The last thing I want to look at is women with perfect bodies who still have breasts. I have been through too much and it would be a continual reminder of what I no longer have. Noble effort and cause on your part, but I have to agree that this is not the right venue to sell them. Samatha, I also was part of a local fund raiser calendar but all the models had bc and were at various stages from their diagnosis. Check out www.throughhealingeyes.org and see the calendars that have been produced. These calendars offer support to women and men with breast cancer to show that there is a productive life after cancer. All the money stays in the local 3 county region to help people going through treatment. I personally don't want to see young college students in bikinis to remind me of what I had. I would rather see the women and men who are 5, 10, 20 yrs out from dx and know that if they did it I can do it to.
my avitar is my photo in the calendar, my mom is a 7 yr survivor and I just past my 1 yr anniversary in April.

O-h-h-h-h Samantha. The cause, as you say, is amazing. But this really is not the site to try to sell the calenders. As the other girls have pointed out, it is impossible to describe the physical and emotional devastation that follows diagnosis with BC. I have fared relatively well (one breast cut off..no hair for the next 6 months or so) and I go to work happily enough, but I avoid social occasions despite my positive attitude. This is because our society worships physical perfection and I am far from there ! A reality check of society's values: which calender would sell the most copies: one featuring college girls or one featuring uni or bilateral mastectomy patients?
Your heart is in the right place, so thank you for that.

I agree with all my bc sisters. Thank for caring.
