taxol + tykerb ?

Hi everyone. I am a caregiver for my mum from Türkiye. I am praying for all of you about your fight against this terrible disease. I want to learn if anyone taking taxol with tykerb? what are the effects ans side effects? My mum just started this treatment 2 days ago after taking tykerb alone. Tykerb caused shortness of breath. She has metastates on lung. I hope everything will be ok.

I don't have any experience with tykerb.  I hope someone will be along to help you.

You might want to post on the recurrence and mets board too.

Hi there!  Currently I am taking Herceptin with Taxol but this week my oncologist said when this regiment stopped working we'd try the Tykerb and Taxol.  I had taken Tykerb and Xeloda both oral meds. but I only did this for a month when they discovered kidney failure.  Can't take Xeloda with kidney failure.  Anyway, If your mum's having taxol 3 weeks on 1 week off then it doesn't seem to have the harsh side effects I had nine years ago when I received mega doses once every 3 weeks for four times.  Made me ache and bones hurt like the flu.  This time the weekly Taxol doesn't seem to be as rough.  My hair is falling out, though.  That's slowed down so maybe I won't be bald this time.
