Aching and tired...

Options

I know I have complained about most everything.....and I'm sorry....I did have a good day Saturday and most of yesterday.  But yesterday evening......I had the WORST headache I think I've ever had in my life.  I didn't know whether to cry or throw up.......it was bad.  Today.....I'm so achy all over.  No fever.....just so tired and achy!

Today is day number 12 since my treatment.  So not really sure what's happening here...

And any of you that are on the TCH regimen......did they tell you.....you could take anything besides tylenol.  That just ain't cuttin it.........

I know I should have called my Dr.....but I also know he would have said COME IN.....and I already have an appt. on Weds to see him.

Thanks......Genia

I took Ibuprophen 800 mg for my knees while on TCH, it was at least 1 a day and sometimes 2.

I know how you feel.  I ache all over also.  My primary doc called today because the home health nurse that comes in had told him I had a cough and my blood counts were low and he called me in an antibiotic.  I also take either Ocycontin or Dialludid for the pain.  I hope you feel better soon.

    Thanks for the input......

I ended up with another headache last night.......not quite as bad as the one the night before......but still bad enough.  I did call my Dr.....he said if these continue I have to have another brain scan done.  He told me I could take a Darvocet.  He doesn't think the headaches are related to the chemo........now I'm scared.......again!

Hi, Genia.  So sorry you are hurting.  Hope they can get you some relief soon!   I found it interesting that you are 12 days posttreatment and having this start.  When I was getting chemo, I would develop mouth sores on day 10 after each treatment.   They would only last 1 day.   My onc explained that my resistance was actually at its lowest point around 10 days after treatment.  Not sure if this applies to your situation, but thought I'd throw that out since you're having a new symptom arise in about that same period of time.

I was thinking maybe the same type thing.  I have an appt tomorrow to get my blood counts checked.......they could be low or something.  I imagine if red cells were low they would make me feel this way........not sure.  Guess I'll find out then........

    Thanks.....

    Genia,

I am on TAC and get a bad headache on about days 9 & 10 - don't know if it is related to the chemo or the neulasta or neupogen shots (I get both).  When I asked the nurse during my last round of shots - he said he never heard of the headache symptom.  Tylenol works for me though - so mine are not as bad as your's.  I have also wondered if it is related to being dehydrated because at that point - I am getting less diligent in making sure I am drinking enough water and the metal taste has made everything not taste great - so my fluid consumption has been down.

Hope you find a solution that helps.

    Tamara

Tamara.....that makes sense to me!  I thought about that yesterday.....I haven't been drinking NEARLY as much as I was.  So it may have something to do with it.

I see my Dr. tomorrow morning.....and I think I would feel better if he did another brain scan.  Cause you know us.......we ALWAYS think the worst after being diagnosed with cancer!
