Counts are low!
After feeling pretty darn good all week, I just got back from onc's office and my counts are down to 1.2. So I'm on the high infection alert. Anyone ever have this happen? He's got me on Cipro, and says I should start to feel better end of tomorrow. Started to get headaches, dizzyness and my heart was beating like it was running a marathon! My blood pressure was very high, fever up to 99.7. Getting rechecked Monday, but he says that it'll be highly unlikely I can get my next treatment next week. I was kinda hoping I was going to get the next cocktail again soon so this tumor can go away!!!!!!

Hi Sue;
I have not had this to this degree, sounds like you already have something like a virus.
I have had to get the neuprogen shot once and it wasn't a big deal. Counts often come back up again in a week or so.
I did have all that you describe after my first chemo...turned out to be an overdose of steroids, apparently I am very sensitive to them. Ask about that.
Good luck hon, they'll figure it out for you!

My whire count goes low too ! I do neuprogon shot for 5 day's after chemo to bring my white count back up so i can have chemo every week.

My wbc dropped to .7 after the first tx and 1.4 after the second tx. I get the Neulast shot a few days after tx and then 3 days of neupogen and since then my counts, while they dropped some, have stayed out of the "danger" zone. I think it is a bit unusual to be getting both neulasta and nepogen but my onco thinks my wbc drop too fast and the neulasta doesn't have time to react so I need the neopgen for a more immediate "boost" of wbc but then the neulasta kicks in and carries me through until my next tx. I get a blood test done every week and the tests in week 2 and week 3 are always in the normal range.

It happened to me about 2 months after I started treatment. I was getting Neupogena first and then Neulasta, but my count still went down. I had gone to the doctor on a Thursday and told me my count was very low and if I ran a fever to get right over to the emergency room.. I ended up at the hospital on a Sunday..I ended up with a fever and an infection, they gave me anit-biotics-sent me home and by the following week my count was high enough to continue with my treatments.
Your counts will go up...

Thanks everyone!
I am feeling so much better today. But it is scary that if I get a fever I have to run over to the hospital ER! Hope that will not happen!
