Hi All,

I am hoping to be able to connect with others with a similar dx as mine. Anyone out there?

Thanks for sharing about your prognosis with me. I am only 32 so all this has been a really huge shock. I had a lumpectomy and SNB last Thursday....all went very well.  The final report on tumor size for me was .8cm, so also very small. My nodes were all negative. I go see the rad and med oncs next week to discuss radiation and hormone therapy. I am a little bummed about the hormone therapy because my dh and I were thinking of adding to our family next year and now  I have to wait to do that. I was told by my BS that it is very unlikely that I will need to do chemo. I also hear about tubular being the cancer with the better prognosis, but it still sucks to have cancer just the same. How long ago were you diagnosed?

Nothing has been said to me about the oncotype DX test, but I have heard of it.  My BS said that based on my final path report it is highly unlikely anyone will talk to me about chemo. My tumor grade is low, margins clean, no lymph node involvement, and tumor size is small. I have heard right from the start that chemo would not be recommended, so I have never factored it into my treatment plan and I just assume leave it that way. I do know I will start rads soon and most likely tamoxifen.

Congrats on being one year out! That must feel good. I had a match call from the Y-ME network because I was having trouble connecting with people with tubular ca since it is so rare. The woman I spoke to is 13 years out and doing great ( I believe she was 49 at dx), so that was reassuring for me. She also said how she was told it was the "better" cancer to have and it was good to hear that from someone with the same dx who is doing so well.
