PLEASE! No more pink!

Bar62, I had four treatments of AC. I craved red meat - rare, bloody, dripping red meat. Must of had something to do with the low RBC counts.
My primary care doctor who worried about my cholesterol levels that kept increasing during chemo in spite of the increased medication she put me on, was very relieved when I told her I had lost my red meat craving when chemo was done.
I didn't crave red meat when I was pregnant; I craved a Baltimore speciality called a Pollack Johnny with all the fixings, especially the special sauce. A Johnny was a Polish sausage made by a guy named John with a long Polish last name that I don't remember.
Alas, John died and I don't think the sausages are available anymore.

Ah TY Sassa, I'm not alone.
I craved grapefruit juice when I was pregnant. I would go to McDonald's early in the morning to get it if I ran out of it at home and wasn't up to shopping for it. Maybe I do have low Potassium when my body is craving a big baked potato with sour cream and chives. Tomorrow!

You can pink all you want as far as I am concerned. I will dye my hair pink, paint my car pink, my tongue, whatever, if we can get a cure from it. The more pink you see, maybe people will finally get it, 1 in 8 women. I want people to get so annoyed with the pink that they cure the damn disease so they don't have to look at one more ribbon. Thank's how I feel. Pink me, Maryiz

my concern is that people see pink, automatically think bc and that they have made a donation. Pink isn't making people really THINK about bc and ways to help w/research/QOL issues etc. More $ would end up in the right place if people just sent donations straight to organizations, regardless of color and specific illness. I wonder if we have beaten to death the benefits of color ribbons. In the begining I think it helped tremedously in awareness and networking when cancer was spoken in a whisper (if that much). Pink is a lovely color that has been taken over by meaning. I enjoy pink- always have but don't want to advertise, just want to wear pink today because it makes my skin look great, and I feel pretty. When I want to make a statement I will do so with my voice and words.
I pray today is a good day for all....Elaine

I hate pink because it infantilizes this disease. No, this is a disease for grown-ass women who are tough and mature -- whatever age it strikes you at.

Amen to that!
-
Amen to that also.
I adore the color, but don't like it in October....however, whatever keeps it in the public awareness, even pepto bismol pink, is a good thing.
Altho........
It is also playboy pink. Recon anyone? I have a barbie boob
I like the idea about sending any and all hilarious pink over the top items to that thread. I vote for the martini glasses I saw (WTF) altho one could drink the martini and forget all about bc for awhile or see pink elephants....................
