I would like to know if symptoms can improve any with IBC.I have been on antibiotic and steroid shots for a week and then antibiotic and steroid pills for another week symptoms are improving.still have stabbing pain sometimes but swelling and color are much better.

In many cases antibiotics can cause a partial improvement of symptoms, this has led to delay in dx.  The general rule is if after two weeks, all or substatially all "infection" is not gone, then futher testing is required.  Bx or MRI.  This info is from other IBC patients and some literature, a doctor who is treating you, or a second opinion from a Dr familiar with IBC would be your best place to get answers.

I had two courses of antibiotics with some improvement in redness and swelling, but as soon as I stopped, the symptoms came back and my BS confirmed the diagnosis. Since then, I have been red, swollen, bruised, itchy and with lots of pain until after my second chemo treatment last week. I have since seen the first improvement so far, and it is major. No pain, tumor visibly shrunken, even down a cup size or two on the IBC side. It was a tradeoff with losing my hair, but so worth it. Get a firm diagnosis and if you do have IBC, get treated. We can beat this

  My symptoms completely disappeared with antibiotics for about 2 months. We are all so different. This was a big problem, as the whole issue was delayed.
