long island making strides
October 19th.
Here's my info, should any of you lovely ladies want to donate....
October is right around the corner, and you all know what that means. Time, once again, when I ask you to join me in the fight against breast cancer, by making a donation to the American Cancer Society. With every year that passes, I have hoped that this letter would become easier to write. I have hoped that the feeling of pride that comes in announcing I am a four year survivor, would somehow overshadow why I continue to walk, and raise money, but it has not. I thought that my long hair, and fading scars could somehow mask the anger and frustration that still lies deep within my heart. But it cannot. This year, it is more important then ever, that you give what you can. Because we are facing such hard economic times, you may think that this request is too great. But if we all pulled together, and donated the money we spent on a latte, or on a dinner with friends, we can help to fight breast cancer. I am a survivor. I waged a war on cancer, and so far, I am winning. Donate for those that are in the fight. Like my friend Kelly. She is 28, with stage 3 breast cancer. She is a single mother of an 8 year old girl. Because of the American Cancer Society, Kelly was linked with me, through the Reach to Recovery program. Because of the American Cancer society's Look Good Feel Better Program, Kelly will receive lessons to help her look better during chemotherapy and radiation. Because of the American Cancer Society, research grants are being utilized to ensure that Kelly will live a long cancer free life, so she can raise her daughter, and get back to work as an intensive care nurse. This is an exciting time in the war against breast cancer. With new targeted therapies such as Herceptin, Tykerb, and new combination chemotherapy for triple negative cancers, women are beating this life changing beast. We are so close. I am certain the cure is in reach. Donate now. Every single dollar makes a difference. Four years. twenty five friends lost. I don't want to bury another. follow this link to donate online https://secure3.convio.net/tacs/site/Donation2?1004976.donation=form1&idb=1762798954&df_id=1004976&FR_ID=11622&PROXY_ID=8039567&PROXY_TYPE=20 or send directly to me: all checks made out to the American Cancer Society Please include your return address for tax purposes. Beth (PM me for my address) For those of you that want to join me for the walk: Jones Beach field 5 October 19th 8am look for our tent Dr.s Feingold, Israeli, and Korn and our bright purple sweatshirts. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. Without all of you, my war would've been a lot harder to win. See you at the beach! Beth
