Pink rash, slight bruising itching on both breasts

Hi there,

I am new here and I have done a lot of research over the last two weeks since this started...I am concerned but also don't want to jump to conclusions.  When I started researching, I figured that I may have had a reaction to something - as I have this patchy rash on my breasts.  It is on both though - so I thought maybe it was dermatatis.  I have been putting Euracin on them, it doesn't make a difference.  The rash has not gone away...I also had slight bruising on the left one and I don't recall hurting myself.  My nipples are itchy too when my breasts intermittantly itch.  I am 36 years old and have a 12 year old child.

I have always been a little more concerned about breast cancer since my grandmother had it.  Should I be overly concerned?  I am in the middle of changing insurances, so I put off going to the doctor until my new insurance kicked in.  I have an appointment in a week and a half for a well-woman checkup...I will mention it then, by then it will have been a month if it continues.

Any input is appreciated.

I had what looked like a bruise and pinkness for about a month before I decided this wasn't normal or a result of some injury I didn't recall.  It turned out to be IBC.  I hope yours is something else.   At any rate the onc. thought that month didn't mean anything in the long run.  But I'd suggest you push to see a BS asap so that if this is IBC you can get your treatment started.  I'll be thinking of you.  Please let us know what's happening.  Sending hugs your way.

I would at least make an appointment w/ your OBGYN and seek a biopsy to rule out...early detection is key especially w/ IBC

Thank you very much for your responses, they are both really helpful.  I am going to have it checked when I go in next Friday just to make sure.  It really is better to be safe than sorry.  You know you both are special people..thank you.
