Hi old Friends... time for 6 mo. mammo

Hi everyone,

In April had two lumpectomies after micocal were found.  Benign but had some ALH.  Dr. recommended a 6 month follow up mammo.  I am starting to worry again.  What exactly are they looking for? Hope it will be clean...

    What they are looking for is to see if more calcifications have formed in what appear to be a suspicious pattern.  This is the normal follow-up after a benign biopsy - it's really just a safety check to be sure that nothing was missed originally.  After 6 months, if there is nothing new that appears suspicious, then they are comfortable that everything is benign and there are no problems. 

    Good luck with the mammo!  I hope that it's boringly normal with no call-backs necessary!
